Things to Do

Welcome to Boulder, friends and family! We're thrilled to have you join us for our special day in the city we call home. Situated a mile above sea level, Boulder's high desert climate can be surprisingly dehydrating. Keep your water bottle filled, your sunscreen at hand, and your schedule flexible for rest, especially if you're new to the altitude. We also highly recommend taking time to explore the stunning outdoors—particularly Rocky Mountain National Park (via public transit, carpooling, rental car). As far as food, we've got some fantastic local recommendations: Breakfast/Brunch: Snooze, Tangerine, Santo (they're famous for breakfast burritos, available 7-11am, but custom burrito orders cutoff 10am). Lunch/Dinner: The Taj Boulder (beloved family-owned Nepali restaurant - our favorite), and Ras Kassa's Ethiopian (another amazing family-owned place, located nearby in Lafayette). We hope you enjoy exploring Boulder! Travel safe and we'll see you soon.

Rocky Mountain National Park

CO

Rocky Mountain National Park is a fantastic destination. We encourage folks to check the weather before adventuring so they are prepared. You can do this via National Weather Service which monitors the park here: https://www.weather.gov/bou/RMNP Please be mindful of your body's response to altitude sickness before venturing in on foot. It is difficult to extract folks the further in they are (heaven forbid). That said, please visit the website for more information regarding hours and passes offered. Note that Beginning on June 1, 2023, Rocky Mountain National Park will be moving to cashless payments at entrances and campgrounds for all fees and payments.

Boulder Farmers Market

13th Street, Boulder, CO 80302

Located on 13th Street between Arapahoe Ave & Canyon Boulevard, Boulder, CO, the Boulder Farmers Market is a great idea for an afternoon activity on Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm (it also operates Wednesday afternoons if you're here early / staying longer).

Mount Sanitas / Sunshine Canyon Trailheads

Sunshine Canyon Drive, Boulder, CO 80304

A very scenic trail area, however, please be careful. There are HARD rated trails as well as EASY here, some are Out & Back and some are Loops. The Hard can see elevation gain (1,256 ft), while the easy is much less (about 334 ft). We recommend downloading AllTrails app for your trail finding needs.
