Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Allie Bacon and James Malone
We are thrilled to have you visit the great outdoors with us in Utah! Salt Lake City is located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains overlooking the Great Salt Lake. The mountains offer endless wilderness adventures and the city is a vibrant scene loaded with many attractions. From Salt Lake, you are only a few hours from multiple national parks and western destinations. However long you stay, we hope you'll take some extra time to explore this great city & state! Please contact us if you have any questions. Here are a few recommended options.
Visit Salt Lake

Visit Salt Lake

90 South West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
, (801) 534-4900

The Visit Salt Lake website has endless recommendations and information about Salt Lake City and the greater Salt Lake area. Visit this website to get to know more about accommodations, attractions, and SLC history.

Silver Lake - Big Cottonwood Canyon

Silver Lake - Big Cottonwood Canyon

8073 South Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, Brighton, UT 84121

Easy and flat 2 mile hike/walk around a beautiful high alpine lake at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon (BCC to the locals). Swing by the nature center for some history and facts from the area. For food, stop at the Silver Creek lodge on the way back down the Canyon, or head through Guardsman's Pass to return via Park City!

Rattlesnake Gulch in Millcreek Canyon

Rattlesnake Gulch in Millcreek Canyon

UT 84109

Where we got engaged! Rattlesnake Gulch is a beautiful hike up Millcreek Canyon, 10 minutes from downtown SLC. The trees should hopefully be in full fall splendor. (Note Millcreek has a $5 fee per vehicle). For a hike closer to the hotel, we recommend the Living Room. Feel free to reach out if you more information on hiking and we will be happy to recommend many more trails.

Level Crossing Brewing Co

Level Crossing Brewing Co

2496 South West Temple Street, South Salt Lake, UT 84115

Our favorite brewery stop when we are in the mood for pizza. Our go-to move is to split the Ohhh, Honey pizza and G.O.A.T Sandwich. Yummm. (Licensed as a 21+ bar). For a family-friendly brewery, we recommend checking out Avenues Proper (licensed as a restaurant so you are legally required to purchase at least an appetizer...because Utah)

High West Saloon

High West Saloon

703 Park Avenue, Park City, UT 84060
, (435) 649-8300

One of the cooler bars in Park City. An old mining house turned distillery boasts incredible cocktails and amazing food! (Licensed as a 21+ bar). We recommend exploring Park City for a day, checking out some small hikes near the base of the resort and exploring the neat shops on main street.

Hub and Spoke Diner

Hub and Spoke Diner

1291 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105
, (801) 487-0698

Look no further for a delicious brunch! Can get crowded on the weekends but worth the wait. Check out the Pulled Pork Benedict or the Vegan Hash.

Snowbird

Snowbird

9385 Snowbird Center Drive, Snowbird, UT 84092
, (801) 933-2222

Enjoy the outdoors but don't want to trudge up a mountain? Take the tram up to the top of Hidden Peak at the Snowbird resort. In September you can also take advantage of Snowbird's Oktoberfest, mountain coasters, and scenic spa.

Utah National Parks Road Trip

Utah National Parks Road Trip

UT
(435) 719-2299

5-7 DAY TRIP If you are visiting for a few extra days and are looking for a desert adventure, check out Utah's many national parks. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are a 3 hour drive south from SLC, while Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion are a little over four hours from SLC. Each park is truly spectacular. You may even catch us on this road trip after the wedding!

For all the days along the way
