Easy and flat 2 mile hike/walk around a beautiful high alpine lake at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon (BCC to the locals). Swing by the nature center for some history and facts from the area. For food, stop at the Silver Creek lodge on the way back down the Canyon, or head through Guardsman's Pass to return via Park City!
Where we got engaged! Rattlesnake Gulch is a beautiful hike up Millcreek Canyon, 10 minutes from downtown SLC. The trees should hopefully be in full fall splendor. (Note Millcreek has a $5 fee per vehicle). For a hike closer to the hotel, we recommend the Living Room. Feel free to reach out if you more information on hiking and we will be happy to recommend many more trails.
Our favorite brewery stop when we are in the mood for pizza. Our go-to move is to split the Ohhh, Honey pizza and G.O.A.T Sandwich. Yummm. (Licensed as a 21+ bar). For a family-friendly brewery, we recommend checking out Avenues Proper (licensed as a restaurant so you are legally required to purchase at least an appetizer...because Utah)
One of the cooler bars in Park City. An old mining house turned distillery boasts incredible cocktails and amazing food! (Licensed as a 21+ bar). We recommend exploring Park City for a day, checking out some small hikes near the base of the resort and exploring the neat shops on main street.
5-7 DAY TRIP If you are visiting for a few extra days and are looking for a desert adventure, check out Utah's many national parks. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are a 3 hour drive south from SLC, while Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion are a little over four hours from SLC. Each park is truly spectacular. You may even catch us on this road trip after the wedding!
