The best WWII museum we've ever been to. You easily need a full day to get through it all. If you find yourself in the area with some time to kill it's definitely worth it!

Huge park in the Mid-city area, large outdoor sculpture garden and paths for walking, running and biking. On the far end there is a golf course and driving range as well.
Blue Oak BBQ
The best BBQ in NOLA (at least in our opinion)!

Oak Alley Plantation
If you have are staying in town for a long weekend and have some extra time check out this beautiful spot along the Mississippi River to get a sense of a classic New Orleans plantation!
Jean Lafitte National Historical Park & Preserve
A classic swamp with alligators and birdwatching galore; this stretch is not too far from downtown and have a number of different trails for explorers of all levels.
The Elysian Bar
Quaint spot in the Marigny with an outdoor patio and church brunch often with live performers - they also have great cocktails and fantastic brussel sprouts!
