Serendipitously perhaps, we met on the first day of medical school orientation. Conversation came easily and after months in the same anatomy lab and many shared outings with friends, our friendship blossomed into something more. Many shared study sessions and long nights out on the town exploring all sorts of French Quarter, Uptown and Frenchman Street haunts ensued and sometime in our second year we found ourselves officially dating. From there, our relationship continued to grow as we traveled the world together, found our respective specialties within medicine and enjoyed every minute of our shared time in New Orleans. After graduation in May 2017, George set off to San Diego for an intern year through the military while Allie remained in New Orleans to begin her surgical residency at Ochsner. George returned to the gulf coast in October 2018 for flight school with the Navy and has been stationed in Meridian, MS since May 2019 so that he could be closer. Despite the distance, we made the best of the situation and our relationship continued to grow. COVID made things increasingly challenging last spring but somehow George still found a way to order beautiful ring. On July 4th, on a hike along the bayou George pulled said ring out of his pocket and the rest is history!
