We met at a bar in Lynchburg VA while Shane was coaching at Randolph college and we immediately hit it off. A few days later (literally 3 days after meeting him), I brought him home to meet my entire (very large) family on Easter. He handled it well. I knew he was the one when he fell thorough my grandfathers ceiling and still returned the next Sunday. Not a day went by that we did not spend together until he moved to Pennsylvania and I moved to North Carolina. We spent 6 months bearing through long-distance until I moved to Pennsylvania to be with him. Fast Forward 5 years and WE ARE GETTING MARRIED! I can not be more excited for our future together!
On a date within a date within a date...Dateception some might say. The night started with some shared interests of being total unrepentant nerds and seemed to melt away until both of us had realized we had spent three successive evenings with one another. One thing led to another and Shane was successfully introduced to the Allen family despite accidentally putting his leg through Grandpa Bob's living room ceiling and owning a prius, but the Allen family couldn't find a third strike. Shane was a young aspiring basketball coach at nearby Randolph College when he first met Becca. Miraculously, he successfully navigated her away from seeing his "young aspiring basketball coach's apartment' for the first month of their relationship until he was confident that she could be...the one. Fate had other plans as three months after meeting, Shane returned to coach at his alma mater in Pennsylvania and Becca was whisked away to Durham, NC. But they found a way to make it work and against all odds, on the fifth year anniversary of when they first became a couple, they will tie the knot.
