Our wedding will be held at the Tierra Retreat Center, nestled into the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains outside of Leavenworth, WA. Tierra is an off the grid farm with a WSDA organic farm, pre-school, and retreat center.
There will be no cell phone service, so please prepare accordingly. Most important - start your Google Maps directions in-town. There is wifi in the main lodge but it is not reliable. For guests staying on property - the amenities are basic but you'll have the essentials - electricity, small kitchenette, running water, etc.
Please feel free to join us at the Tierra Lodge between 3 and 3:30, guests will all walk over to the amphitheater together around 3:45. The walk to the amphitheater is a short (1/16 mile) dirt path so please wear shoes that you feel comfortable walking and navigating unstable ground.
Friday Welcome Games and Dinner Seattle's Finest aka Outdoor Athletic Attire: Come dressed for an outdoor picnic and lawn games, athletic shoes recommended Saturday Ceremony, Dinner and Dancing Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. Sunday Brunch Cozies! Shoe note! Friday will be grass, ceremony will be in the woods, dinner will be on grass and dancing will be on the patio so wear shoes accordingly. If you're dying to show off your dancing shoes, we can stash them away so you can also have an outfit change!
Yes, there is parking outside of the Tierra Lodge. Please remember to download directions as there is no cell-service in or around Tierra! From US 2 Eastbound in Leavenworth you will turn Left onto Chumstick HWY and head North toward the town of Plain. You will follow the Chumstick HWY approximately 5.5 miles and will turn Left onto Sunitsch Canyon Road. There is a large Tierra Learning Center sign at the intersection of Chumstick HWY and Sunitsch Canyon Road. Follow the road over the railroad tracks for approximately 1 mile. Please drive slow- speed limit 25mph on the pavement and 14 on the dirt! You will come to an intersection and another directional sign. Turn left down the hill and head straight ahead toward the Retreat Center and Main Lodge. The suites are located just past the Main Lodge. Turn left down the road between the suites. Aspen and Maple are the first and second buildings on your left respectively and Spruce, Fir, and Pine are the three buildings on your right. You may park at the suite buildings, but we ask that a maximum of only 2 cars park at each building since there is limited parking and there needs to be ample room for a fire truck to get through.
We thought very carefully about our guest list and we're aiming to keep it an intimate affair. Those invited to join us will be listed on the invitation.
No, but please let us know if you're concerned about this. We want everyone to arrive home safely so we can help pair you with other guests for a shuttle service if needed.
June 1st is full blown spring in the mountains! There will be wild flowers galore. We're hoping for blue skies but this is the mountains so weather can change rapidly. It will get chilly at night (sunset won't be until about 9pm in June) so bring a puffy or jacket for both Friday and Saturday events.
Friday we'll be serving appetizers and a casual buffet style dinner Saturday we'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet with a selection of omnivore and veggie/vegan dishes and salads, and CAKE!
During the ceremony, we'd love you to be present and refrain from taking photos. We have fantastic photographers who will be capturing our moment! For all other events, go bananas!
Please feel free to reach out to Alex (720-621-0479) or Lynsey (360-440-7146) with any questions you may have! If you have questions during the wedding, Alex and I will be a bit busy, so we'll be sharing contact details for someone to answer any questions during our weekend!
Please let us know by April 15th!
