Nikah, Mehndi, & Rukhsati

5:00 pm - 11:00 pm

When arriving at the venue the road to the lakehouse comes up quickly and is poorly signed. Be sure to lookout for Upper Bear Creek Road that will take you to the venue on the right. Nikah: The Nikah is the Islamic marriage ceremony, where the Muslim couple legitimizes their marriage in the eyes of God by exchanging vows and signing the marriage contract in the presence of an imam and at least 2 witnesses. The ceremony will last about 45 minutes and will take place on the deck at the Lake House. Mehndi: The Mehndi is a party with bright colors, henna, and dancing. There will be the first entrance for the bride and groom as a couple, a henna station, dancing, and food. Rukhsati: After the event, there will be a Rukhsati ceremony where the bride and groom leave together as a couple to start their new life. Please note that all events are at the same location (indoor and outdoor) and will immediately follow one another. The FAQs have more specific information.

Shalima Reception

5:30 pm - 10:30 pm

The Shalima is a formal evening reception hosted by both the bride’s and groom’s families. There will be speeches, pictures, food, and more dancing. The event will take place on the main floor of the Mount Vernon Canyon Club and will include the outdoor deck. The FAQs have more specific information.
