Transportation

We know that making plans to travel across the pond is no easy task. We wanted to provide you with some flight options and how to get around once you are here! If you have any questions specific to your travel needs, please reach out to us at charlottehampson@comcast.net or adam.burg91@gmail.com ** We will be providing transportation to and from Brompton Lakes to the wedding venue on the date of the wedding! See "Lodging" for more information on Brompton Lakes.

Flight

London Heathrow

London Heathrow is the third largest airport in the world! Whether you are traveling from Denver, Chicago, Dallas and beyond, you can get here easily as there are LOTS of flights in and out of this international hub. If you choose to fly in to Heathrow you can opt to take a connecting flight to the northern part of England, where our wedding will take place, or take a train up the countryside, or zip up in a rental car! This is the international hub we recommend flying in to if you want to stay in London and check out the sites for a few days. It is approximately a 4 hour drive or 2.5 train ride from London to the location of the wedding.

Flight

London Gatwick

London Gatwick is the smaller international airport located in London. It does offer connections to the United States as well as up to the Northern UK airports. There is also train connection and rental car availability at this airport.

Flight

Manchester Airport

There are many commuter flights between London Heathrow and Manchester, an approximately 45 minute plane ride. The other option is to drive up from London to Manchester in a car. There are many major highways that make for an approximately 4 hour drive. You can also get up to Manchester via any of the major railways. If you chose to fly in to Manchester, it will be a 1.5ish hour drive or 2 hour train ride up to the location of the wedding.

Flight

Newcastle International Airport

If you are wanting to just fly in for the wedding, we recommend flying in to Newcastle International Airport. There are many commuter flights between London Heathrow and Newcastle that would make it a quick and easy trip up. There are also direct flights to Newcastle from the United States. Newcastle International Airport is a quick 40 minute car or bus ride to the wedding venue. There is also a train service available to the surrounding towns.

Train

The National Rail

The National Rail is a great way to get around the country! Whether you are wanting to go from London all the way up to Richmond, or you want to stop in other cities and villages on the way, it is a great and scenic way to see the country side and avoid road traffic. You can use the provided web pages to shop for tickets and check out train departure and arrival schedules. If you are flying in to London and want to take the train up North there are many stations where you can hop on the railway. Recommended Stations for Departures and Arrivals: London - London Euston Manchester - Manchester Picadilly Richmond - Darlington Station Newcastle - Newcastle Central Station

Rental Car

Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo, Budget, etc.

If you want to rent a car there is good news for you -- all major rental car companies that are available in the United States are available in the United Kingdom! Just remember, they drive on the other side of the road, the steering wheel is opposite of ours and the cars are quite a bit smaller! :-) If you are planning to travel around we do recommend renting a car for ease of getting around. Check online at your preferred rental car provider and book one if you would like!

Rental Car

Taxi Services

Once up in Northern England we will be somewhat far away from many of the "big" cities. Getting around Richmond is not difficult as there is a bus system and several local taxi services. We do recommend getting a rental car or linking up with someone that might be traveling with one if you want to go beyond the town of Richmond. At this point in time Uber and Lyft is not available in this part of the country.
