Travel Note

What is the difference between Redmond and Woodinville?

Woodinville is the well known tasting room/winery town of Western Washington. We like to think of it as the Fredericksburg of Washington! Redmond is the town where our wedding venue, Chateau Lill, is technically located. Though, most people consider it in Woodinville. Redmond is the town just a few minutes south of Woodinville, where there are more lodging accommodations available.

Where Should I Fly Into?

You should fly into Seattle Tacoma Airport. From the airport, Redmond is about 30-45 minute drive.

Train

The Link Lightrail

Seattle has a high speed above ground train that runs from south of the airport to the northern part of Seattle. This is a fantastic way to inexpensively get from the airport to a more central location if you are not renting a car and need to use a rideshare app to get to Redmond. The lightrail station is connected to the fourth floor of the airport garage and a covered, level walkway connects to the airport terminal. The well-lit walkway is separated from the main area of the garage and directional signs point the way. You will just need to purchase a ticket, which can be done before getting on the train. If you do go this route, we recommend taking the lightrail to the University of Washington Stop, and getting off there. From there, you will be a 20 minute drive to Redmond.

Ride Share Apps

If you are planning to take rideshare to get to Redmond, we recommend downloading uber and lyft, and comparing the prices before you book a ride. Please be aware that traveling using rideshare apps can be expensive in Seattle. If you are coming in a small group, please don't hesitate to reach out to Abby or Dallas to see if we can connect you with other guests if you would like to coordinate rental cars.

Seattle and the surrounding area have so much to see and do. We highly recommend renting a car if you are in town for more than a few nights for the wedding. Please let us know if you would like to try to get in touch with other guests who may also be interested in exploring the area!
