Abby's Version Dallas and I met on Bumble in the winter of 2019. I truly never thought that I would be interested in meeting up with anyone off of an app, but there was something about him. He suggested that our first date be walking around Town Lake at 7 pm (in the winter, so it was dark out), and I listen to so much true crime that I almost didn't agree to go out with him at all. I suggested Homeslice Pizza, which was about 3 houses down from my college house. Not only could I walk there, but I also drove and parked right at the front - just in case I needed to make a quick escape. When we met, I was struck by how effortlessly goofy and sweet he was and I quickly realized that he hadn't intended to get me alone at a lake at night - he was the kindest and most respectful soul. Our first date turned into several hours. He immediately felt like home. We met on Jan 17th, 2019 and his birthday was the next day. I made sure to text him happy birthday right at midnight. From there, things were easy and so natural. I convinced him to adopt a kitten less than 2 months into our relationship. Ironically, the kitten he fell in love with was named "Bumblelion" at the animal shelter. We thought it was hilarious, since we met on Bumble. We still love our Bumby to this day! Right after we started dating, Dallas moved to DFW to start his career. Two years of long distance was so tough, but our journey only got better and better. Now here we are, five years later getting MARRIED! I can't wait to marry my soulmate!! Dallas's Version I met Abby in 2019 during my last semester of college. We met via the Bumble dating app which I did not have much experience with, or dating apps in general for that matter. When I met up with her for our first date, I sensed that she was more mature than other girls around my age and that made me believe there was no way she was 20 like she listed on her profile - I assumed she had to be at least 28. Then her goofy side was quickly revealed where she almost knocked over the candle at our dinner table. A month later I accidently slipped out an "I love you" shortly after we were officially dating and while that was definitely too quick, I knew I meant it. Fast forward almost 5 years together, Abby and I are now far from our hometowns in Texas and have charted a new life for ourselves. Abby has been by my side through constant change, hardship, new pets, friends, jobs - you name it. I truly believe that nobody on the planet is as well equipped to love me and I can't wait to make this thing official in May 2024!
