About this venue

The Maxwell House is an Historic Landmark & Special Event Space located in the heart of Old-Town Pasadena. Full of unique, historic charm, it is a venue built for making memories! We offer a variety of wedding and special event packages, perfect for any of life’s celebrations! Event rentals include access to the entire first floor, including the main ballroom, grand staircase, sweeping foyer, large dining room, library, full kitchen, and two outdoor patios, in addition to the upstairs mezzanines and wedding suite. Included in our packages is the use of our inhouse equipment such as tables and chairs, artisan crafted wooden wedding arch, dance floor, sound system, bar, outdoor string lighting, complimentary parking, and more!

A vintage gem full of warmth, charm, and individuality.

Our Traditional Wedding package includes use of the venue for rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. Also included in your rental are tables, chairs, plenty of free public parking in a nearby lot, setup/cleanup, and other complimentary features! Our package is a flat rate, regardless of date or season. There are no discounts for partial use. Best of all, there's no tax on your rental, since the money goes towards supporting the programs of our nonprofit organization the Western Justice Center!

From our first look at pictures of this venue, we fell in love. The architecture and the history of this venue stand out compared to other venues we looked at, and the chance to support a non-profit with our wedding was an extra bonus. All the staff that helped us with everything from planning to the day of were wonderful and really helped the day go perfectly. Even with the threat of rain, we knew we had options for an indoor or a outdoor/indoor wedding. We also have to shout out their Preferred Vendors list as a great place to start building the rest of our wedding vendors.

The Maxwell House was the perfect venue for our small ceremony, and we appreciated that they offer an elopement package. Rae was a pleasure to work with and answered all of our questions. The Maxwell House is such a gem and a unique venue, and had everything we needed. I highly recommend to any couple!

I have worked at the Maxwell House a couple of times, specifically with Reid. He is always professional and clear about the house rules, fees and what exactly is included for an event or wedding. He will bend over backwards for you to try to fullfill your requests. On actual event days, there is an onsite venue coordinator overseeing the venue and is periodcically checking in with the event coordinator. In the times I have worked there, it's been pleasant and organized. There is a very detailed checklist leading up to your event to be sure all is covered and addressed. Highly recommended venue.

Our offices are typically open 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday, with our Events Coordinator in office from 10am - 4pm.

Yes! You are welcome to have your events on a weekday, however we can not guarantee total privacy as our offices, and the offices of the other Non-Profits on our campus, will be open.

Yes!

Unfortunately we can not allow food trucks at our venue. We are in a residential neighborhood and we can not disturb our neighbors.

Yes! You can put down a $100 hold, and we will hold your chosen date for 7 days. If you choose to move forward with your event during or at the completion of those 7 days that $100 will count towards the total cost of your event. You may only hold a date once, and you may only have one hold per event.

Unfortunately not. We are not allowed to make exceptions to this rule for many reasons, some of which being; Our Neighbors, Our Staff Hours, The Cleaning Crew, and the time it takes to turn the space over for the following event.

No. Because we are a historic building, we do not allow open flame of any sort here at our venue. Sadly BBQ's and Outside Grills fall under that category.

We typically sell out for our weekend availability. Some of the most popular seasons are Spring, Summer, and Fall.

We book year round

Yes, but you must have a licensed bartender selected from our list of partnered bartending service providers.

Yes, we have access to a nearby free parking lot

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
