The Portsmouth Gas Light Co building was constructed in 1837, it was the home of the city's first utility company and is located in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. We can accommodate 25 to 200 guests in our stylish event space. Our professional staff is experienced in hosting events including, but not limited to weddings, rehearsal dinner/welcome parties, bridal/baby showers, birthday parties, corporate events, networking events and business dinners. .

$650 Sunday thru Thursday for 3 hour block, $750 Fridays and Saturdays for 3 hour block. Additional $200 per hour.

    Finding the perfect spot for our rehearsal dinner felt like searching for a hidden gem. We needed a venue that could comfortably hold 150 guests, offered a delicious menu, and had a charming atmosphere. Thankfully, our hunt led us to Portsmouth Gas Light's 3rd floor! From the moment we stepped into this beautiful downtown building (conveniently close to a parking garage!), we knew it was special. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Michelle, the Function Manager. Michelle was an absolute rockstar! She helped us navigate everything with ease, from handling dietary restrictions to selecting the perfect menu options and ensuring all our needs were met. The entire function team was professional and attentive, making the whole evening flow seamlessly. And let's not forget the food! It was incredible. Our guests raved about everything they tried. We highly recommend Portsmouth Gas Light for any event. If you're looking for a place with charm, delicious food, and amazing staff, look no further! They truly helped us create an unforgettable rehearsal dinner.
