The Red Barn redefines the barn wedding experience with full-service wedding planning and contemporary amenities. The quaint backdrop of historic South Berwick, Maine provides the perfect setting for today’s couples looking to escape into the heart of Vacationland. The Red Barn is the newest and most exciting addition to Outlook Farm. This beautiful addition allows us to offer an event location for all seasons. The reconstruction of the Red Barn is the first project in a phased approach to restore and renovate the Outlook Farm property to its original grandeur of 100 years ago. The new building maintains the look and feel of the historic Maine barn it has always been while featuring all of the amenities available in the most modern of banquet facilities.

The Red Barn at Outlook Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, the team at the Red Barn was incredibly professional and concise in their communication, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. On the day of, they managed everything seamlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy our special day. The barn itself is large and elegant, providing a beautiful backdrop for our celebration. The quality of their work and the value they provided was simply perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our wedding.

We got married at The Red Barn this June, and we can not recommend this wedding venue enough. We knew from the moment we toured the building with Lisa that this was where we wanted to get married—not only because the venue was stunning but also because Lisa was so kind and professional. Our coordinator, Alex, was an absolute dream to work with. She was so supportive during the whole planning process and answered all of our questions promptly. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. It was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the day because we knew that Alex was taking care of everything. If you are considering The Red Barn for your wedding- DO IT! You will not be disappointed. Our families and friends still talk about how great the wedding was and how professional the staff was. We also stayed at the Nealley House and The Stage House Inn. The Nealley House was perfect for our immediate families. They appreciated the kitchen space and all the bathrooms throughout the house. We even hosted a welcome party the night before the wedding and got to make use of the backyard and deck. The bridesmaids, mothers, and I (the bride) got ready here in the Bridal Suite. There is a separate room for hair and makeup, which makes getting ready feel more relaxing. The bridal suite and other rooms in the Nealley House made for the most dreamy pictures. Many of our friends and families stayed at the Stage House Inn for the weekend. Everyone had very positive things to say about the rooms—they were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. They also said that the staff there was very professional and kind.

Our wedding day could not have been any more perfect thanks to everyone at The Red Barn. As soon as my now-husband and I walked into the barn, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. The barn itself is a work of art - even the bathrooms are gorgeous! The Red Barn Team is the best of the best. Our assigned coordinator, Emily, played a HUGE role in making our wedding day the day of our dreams. From the moment we booked our date and through the wedding day itself, she went out of her way to be helpful, responsive, and reassuring. My husband and I truly felt that we could relax and soak in every moment of our wedding day thanks to Emily and the rest of the team, and there are no words to describe how grateful we are for that. We received so many compliments from guests about the food, drinks, decor, and friendliness of the staff. Thanks to everyone at The Red Barn, our wedding experience exceeded our expectations by a landslide.

We had the best experience getting married at The Red Barn! From the first tour we had with Lisa, she was so informative and helpful without being pushy. We knew pretty quickly that we loved the venue, and that was while it was torrentially down-pouring! The venue is absolutely stunning, ceremony and reception space alike. The all inclusive pricing is very straightforward but still allowed for plenty of options to make it feel more personalized. Everyone loved the food, but the biggest hit were the lobster rolls at cocktail hour—guests were running for them. And our coordinator, Emily, was unbelievable! From the multiple phone calls with her to review every aspect of our wedding, her accommodating us with specific timeline requests but also thoughtfully steering us in the right direction with certain decisions, to her making sure a certain beer was on tap for our bar, for corralling our energetic wedding party, helping my mom bustle my dress and fixing my hair mid reception, making sure we had drinks and food, checking in with me to see if I wanted a little extra time during cocktail —I truly don’t know how she does it but she was by far the reason behind everything at our wedding running so smoothly so we could have fun and enjoy our night! I can’t thank her and her staff enough for all of their hard work and giving my husband and I the best night of our lives!

All of the catering at the Red Barn at Outlook Farm is done in house. However, wedding and event hosts are encouraged to bring in dessert, which must be made by a licensed baker.

We cannot accommodate station-only or appetizer style wedding receptions. However, our 3 Hour Event Packages can accommodate this so long as the food spend minimum is met.

The menu items within the Wedding Packages are priced out accordingly. You are welcome to swap out for an item in a lower-priced package. It is also possible to substitute hors d’oeuvre options for a small up-charge.

The Red Barn can hold up to 220 people for a wedding ceremony and reception, or other event.

Typically couples reserve dates 8-24 months prior to their desired wedding date. If your preferred date is during our High Season (Aug - Oct) and On Season (May-July, Nov & Dec), we recommend booking 18-24 months out.

Yes! We host weddings and events all year. The building has heat and A/C and all the other amenities of a modern, year-round, facility. As well, our extensive veranda is enclosed with heat in the wintertime, ensuring plenty of space for your guests in all seasons.

Five hours are included for wedding receptions. If a couple has their wedding ceremony onsite we include six hours total. For other types of events, three hours are allottedAny additional hours must be confirmed 3 weeks prior to the event and all events may be extended for an additional fee of $800 per hour.

Events of any kind must be conclude by 11:00pm with the exception of New Year's Eve, which may end at 12:30 am.

Due to our busy wedding weekends, all rehearsals are scheduled for 11:00am the day before the wedding.

Decorations such as a guest book, escort cards, favors, signs, candles, etc., will be dropped off the day prior to the wedding. If you are having your ceremony onsite you will drop off your decorations at the Ceremony Rehearsal the day prior.

For couples getting married onsite, the wedding party may arrive one hour prior to guest arrival time (hair and makeup is done off site).

We have 60" round tables that fit up to 8 guests, and 72" round tables that fit up to 10 guests.

The Red Barn has a liquor license, therefore it is illegal to bring any outside alcohol onto the premises.

Yes! Your four legged friend can be in your wedding ceremony, but they must leave before dinner service.

The Stage House Inn is under the same ownership as the Red Barn and is located less than a mile away in the village center of South Berwick. There we offer 20 guest rooms, including a gorgeous bridal suite perfect for getting ready the day of the wedding, plus on site function spaces available for rehearsal dining events, farewell brunch, etc. As well, Nealley House, is a historic 5 bedroom / 5.5 bath rental home is located adjacent to the inn and includes a bridal suite, ample common space, full kitchen, backyard, and more. Our accommodations include complimentary shuttle service for you and your guests to and from your Red Barn wedding.
