About this venue

Moon Shadow Haven on Johnson Creek is a little piece of Paradise in the Texas Hill Country, located just 2 miles off I-10 in Mountain Home, Texas. The property is on 17 acres with 1/3 mile of creek frontage. The venue itself is perched at the top of a bluff overlooking Johnson Creek and the wildlife that visits the creek. The venue embraces the Texas Hill Country vibe and celebrates the property's breathtaking views while also having modern amenities and conveniences. You will have the option of holding a gorgeous creek side wedding or utilizing our charming air conditioned chapel with antique oak pews and an amazing view! We offer multi day venue rentals and have onsite lodging for up to 30 guests so your entire wedding party can arrive the day before the wedding to hold the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, as well as completing the decorating. The Lodge

Finding inspiration in Colorado, the owners designed the venue as a picturesque lodge one might find nestled in the mountains.

The main room in our lodge is 4000sqft, and will accommodate 200 people at round tables, along with a dance floor in the center. It has both indoor and outdoor bar areas and a buffet serving area next to the catering kitchen. It also has both bride and groom suites for ceremony preparations. There are both indoor and outdoor fireplaces and an outdoor covered patio area overlooking the creek.

Very affordable option with use of the venue for 12 hours! Choose your choice of ceremony location at our gorgeous creek side or in our beautiful climate controlled chapel, followed by cocktail hour using our covered area near reception lodge with outside bar, firepit, access to restrooms. Then enjoy your fun filled reception in our gorgeous reception lodge!

    My husband and I just got married at Moon Shadow. We could not have been happier with it! The venue is GORGEOUS (we got a lot of compliments). Also, Jim and Jane are great. They were very responsive and transparent. The process was very smooth. We could not recommend them more!

    Moon Shadow Haven is gorgeous! So many amenities and extras were included in the price, and the owners and staff were so helpful. We were able to hold our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner onsite, and decorate everything the day before the ceremony! We had a stress-free wedding and our guests had a blast!
