At Historic Shady Lane, we believe every couple deserves the chance to have their dream wedding in a beautiful setting. The 34-acre property contributes to the rich history of this 1770 private estate. With gorgeous views and gardens, a magical glass and stone greenhouse, and a white frame tent complete with draping and chandeliers, Historic Shady Lane is a wedding venue made for creating memories that are true to you. We believe in outstanding customer service and are proud to be an award winning venue located conveniently in Central PA. We pride ourselves on welcoming all couples, their guests and families onto the estate to enjoy celebrating in the love of two people. We hope to see you for a tour soon!

    Historic Shady Lane provided excellent communication throughout our wedding planning process. Their coordinator Caitlyn was very good about keeping us informed and addressing any of our questions or concerns. The venue itself was beautifully stunning, with a gorgeous greenhouse and very spacious reception tent. When it rained on our wedding day, they were quick to accommodate and rearrange the setup so our guests could stay nice and dry inside the greenhouse. They also offered golf cart transportation, which our guests really appreciated. While their preferred vendor list had some great options, we ended up finding an amazing makeup artist that wasn't on their list. Overall, Historic Shady Lane contributed greatly to making our special day unforgettable.

    Historic Shady Lane is such a beautiful venue, both naturally and in it's structures. Working with Caitlyn and their recommended venues made my life so easy in planning because I was sure the whole day would turn out beautifully. We got married in July on what felt like one of the hottest days of the year, but all of our guests still had an amazing time and took complete advantage of the beautiful landscape and spaces HSL has to offer such as the gazebo, reception tent, green house, etc. When I started looking for a venue, I was keeping in mind something unique, natural looking, and beautiful and HSL was all of those things.

    It's no question why this venue is so beloved. As a wedding photographer, Historic Shady Lane offers so many unique and beautiful backdrops. We love the endless photo spots! You get rustic with all the stone, whimsical with the lush greenery, and industrial with the greenhouse. Having all 3 at one place is a rarity. Not only is the property picturesque, but those that run the operation are great to work with. We absolutely love the staff. We have only had wonderful experiences shooting at HSL and are looking forward to booking more weddings there in the future!
