About this venue

Situated on the grounds of a historic beanery, Hartlot Happening is a reclaimed industrial event space conveniently located 5 miles from the village of Skaneateles and close to Route 5. We offer a modern, industrial environment with an urban vibe in a private, rural setting. Our 19th-century concrete buildings have been thoughtfully updated to preserve their character. The venue and courtyard combined offer over 3000 square feet of versatile space. The courtyard can be tented in case of inclement weather. Hartlot Happening offers both indoor and outdoor options for your special day. Whether you prefer an indoor or outdoor celebration, Hartlot Happening has you covered. With a capacity of up to 120 guests, our venue caters to intimate gatherings and larger weddings alike.

Our micro wedding package allows you the flexibility to choose your color scheme and style while we take care of the heavy lifting! After getting married here in October, I cannot recommend the Hartlot Happening enough!! The space is a beautiful blend of indoor and outdoor which was SO popular with our guests. We got so many compliments on the venue because of how easy it was for guests to mingle and chat. Everyone said it was unlike any venue they had been to before—in the best possible way! The owner, Katie, was a delight to work with and was so mindful of preserving the vision we had for the wedding even when we had to make last minute adjustments on the fly. If you are looking for something different than the typical wedding hall experience, then Hartlot Happening is the place for you!

We were Hartlot's first wedding as a venue. Everything turned about super lovely, and Katie and her team were really accommodating and communicative as we figured out what we needed. Our guests were totally wowed by the space. If you're looking to have your wedding in the area, I highly recommend them.

Yes, as long as you have applied for and received and permit from the NYS Liquor Authority. But you must have an insured bartending or catering company serve your guests. Self serve of alcohol is not permitted for weddings.

Yes, we have a parking lot for approximately 40 cars. We recommend providing transportation for guests when your guest count is above 75 people.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Our venue is fully insured but we require event insurance to be purchased by our clients.

120 Chairs Eight 8.5’ wood tables, 5 round tables with white linens, 2 bathrooms (1 ADA accessible) 3 Trash, 1 recycling, and 1 compost receptacle. We provide trash removal but ask that trash is bagged and placed in the receptacles. 8' Outdoor Rustic Beam Table 1 Firepit. Two on-site meetings to review your event timeline and details. Assistance in creating a floor plan. We will also arrange tables and chairs before the start of your Rental period. Our on-site commercial kitchen is available for your exclusive use. 25% discount on rentals through She Rents Vintage, our exclusive vintage rentals partner.

Service Staff are not included in your fee, Hartlot Happening is not responsible for bussing tables or trash, food, or bar service. Bar Service is not included. HH does not have a liquor license, you must work with a licensed Bartending service and secure a One-Day Permit from the NY State Liquor Authority. Event insurance is not included in your rental fee, guest is required to purchase event insurance. Plates, flatware, napkins, and bar glassware are not included. Ice is not included and is not available on-site. We recommend getting ice through your Caterer or Bartender service. Clean-up of personal or rented items is not included.

Venue Pricing & Options By the hour: $300 per hour, minimum of 3 hours, includes exclusive commercial kitchen use. *starting in 2024, hourly rentals are not available Fridays or Saturdays By the Day: $4500 Rental period is from 10AM to 11PM & includes exclusive commercial kitchen use By the Weekend: $7500 Rental period is from Friday at 10AM through Sunday at 1PM Includes exclusive commercial kitchen use Cleaning Fee: All bookings must make a $250 cleaning deposit, this is refundable if the Guest leaves Hartlot Happening clean upon the end of the Rental Period.
