I hired Marsha to be the day-of coordinator for my wedding. She seemed great at first, and things were moving along toward my wedding day. Days after making the final payment, tragedy struck: Hurricane Helene devastated my home region, including completely destroying our wedding venue. I messaged Marsha to let her know and even sent photos of the heartbreaking destruction. Her response shocked me—it was cold, unempathetic, and dismissive. She replied, “My husband and I live right on the Catawba River, and our home was fine.” I still don’t know what she was trying to convey with that response. Was she accusing me of lying? Did she want me to praise her for escaping life-altering destruction? I couldn’t believe it. I messaged her back to let her know we were scrambling to figure out what to do with the wedding just 12 days away, and I was still riddled with anxiety, worrying about friends and family in the region. A day or so later, I let her know that, given the extreme circumstances, we were changing the wedding from a large summer camp event to a small backyard ceremony in my hometown. I explained that a day-of coordinator wouldn’t be necessary anymore and asked if we could work out a partial refund given the extraordinary situation. Marsha’s response was a cold, business-like email that cited the contract and claimed all the money had already been spent, so she’d essentially be working “for free” on the day of the wedding. This made no sense to me, so I asked her to clarify the costs. What she sent back left me stunned. She claimed she had spent 13 hours and 11 minutes creating the wedding timeline. While timeline preparation was part of her job, I had personally created the timeline myself, along with a detailed PowerPoint and manual that took me days to complete. Her “evidence” was a screenshot of an app with my name and “13:11” written next to it—completely unverifiable. The timeline she sent back to me was a direct copy-and-paste of mine, complete with my personal notes and highlighted sections. When I pointed this out, she accused me of plagiarizing a timeline she had shown me earlier in our planning process due to the start time of my ceremony. Apparently, I’m the first bride in history to start a wedding at 5 PM. Throughout this back-and-forth, she started calling and texting me with bizarre messages, claiming I was harassing her, despite the fact that I hadn’t called her and all my emails were polite and professional. I even wrote back to say that my husband and I were happy to pay her for the legitimate work she had done—covering our meetings, the venue walkthrough, and a few hours of reviewing the timeline. This would leave us asking for only about 40% of our payment back. She flat-out refused, saying this is the price DIY brides like me pay when they don’t purchase insurance. As if I was supposed to foresee needing hurricane insurance for my venue in the middle of South Carolina. I’ve held off on writing this review for weeks because it took time to process everything, but I cannot let what happened to me happen to another bride. Marsha’s lack of empathy, professionalism, and honesty during an unimaginable situation was heartbreaking. If you want a day-of coordinator you can trust—someone who can empathize and help you navigate extreme circumstances—please look elsewhere. Do not hire Marsha.

Marsha of Our Events Done Wright went above and beyond to make sure our Wedding Day was perfect. Upon meeting Marsha, she gave off such a warm greeting; like a mother welcoming her kids back home. She was always so open and honest with us. We built a great working relationships and we knew we could trust her decision on everything. Whenever we ran into any issues or decisions, Marsha knew our answer before we even said it. She always asked us our opinions and gave her professional feedback. Marsha was very flexible and kept the lines of communication open by continuously giving us updates as our wedding date approached. She set reasonable timelines to ensure everything was done in a timely manner. If a problem arose, she already had a solution before she would call and let us know. She handled everything, from vetting the right vendors to meet our requirements and giving honest reviews on their products and services. Unlike most wedding vendors who try to price guage and choose the highest price vendors, she helped us get the best bang for our bucks. We got the best quality with every vendor she recommended. Lastly, Marsha is such a great person. She is probably one of the most sincere and honest people we've had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with. She will not disappoint. If you’re looking for a wedding planner, event planner, or coordinator; Our Events Done Wright and Marsha are the right people for the job. We had a fairytale Wedding and it’s all because of Marsha!
