My name is Jake Moreland and I am the owner of Two Birds Photography. I am the proud father to three awesome sons, Graysen, Bear and Milo - who I fondly refer to as my unpaid interns. I also have a rescue cat who is usually underfoot. I enjoy hiking, camping, painting, black and white film photography, and I collect vinyl records.

I am a laid back and easy going photographer who loves to capture real non-posed moments. My style of photography is radiant and joyful. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and I cover all of the Chicago area including northwest Indiana. I'm also always up for a road trip and am willing to travel. I started Two Birds Photography in 2008 and have photographed so many amazing weddings since then and would love the chance to capture your story as well! I work with animal rescues and when you book me for your wedding I will make a donation to my favorite animal rescue!

Jake captured our wedding day beautifully. He was very easy to work with and took one stress off our plate as we were planning. During the day of, Jake blended into the scene and was not intrusive to the day itself. He made sure that we got every shot that we had asked for. He also called us aside for some photos during the reception at golden hour, which was a special time to escape for a few minutes. Jake delivered the photos within the promised timeframe. And we were delighted with the results. My 2 older siblings have both used Jake as their wedding photographer, and I'm glad I followed in their footsteps! Overall, great quality, kind human, and good value.

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

Yes, if you would like to have a second photographer at your wedding for extra perspective throughout the day you may add that service to your package. At this time we don't bring along assistants. If that changes there will be no charge to you.

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer basic retouching services like blemish removal at no charge. If you need more extensive retouching done such as adding/or removing a person from a photo or swapping heads I will send a quote.

No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. When the photos are complete I will send you a link to your online gallery where you will be able to download your high resolution files.

You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

In my 20 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues.
