I could give you my spill about how I started shooting with a film Minolta in middle school and that it tugged my heart so deeply I never set the camera down. But I would rather share with you what I love. What I enjoy. What I'm about. I have a passionate soul. I get way too excited too easily. I smile at just about anything. I'm terrible with names. I'm a retired certified public accountant. I'm allergic to dogs. I own WAY too many shoes. I want a tattoo of a vintage camera. I love what I do so much it takes my breath away. This is me. The real me. Not the "fake, I hope I sold you" me. Now let's see if we can make this thing work.

I catch myself so many times wishing life away and I have to force myself to stop. Take it all in. To not lose site of the little things that make this life worth living. That's why I love photography. Because those little things that you never want to forget become a permanent memory. You know what happens when you look at a photograph? Your mind is immediately reminded of the moments that happened before and after that snapshot along with the emotions you were feeling. That one photograph preserves that moment forever.

From the moment we began our wedding planning journey, we knew that choosing the right photographer would be one of the most important decisions we’d make. After much research, we found Amanda May Photography, and it was truly one of the best choices we could have made for our special day. Amanda has an incredible ability to capture not just images but emotions. From the very first meeting, she took the time to understand our vision and what we wanted to convey through our wedding photos. Her professionalism and genuine passion for capturing the perfect moment were evident, and we felt so excited to have been able to have her document our wedding. On our wedding day, Amanda was such calming and light presence amidst the whirlwind of excitement. They expertly navigated through every moment, capturing the laughter, tears, and joy without ever feeling intrusive. She made me laugh countless times throughout the day, which helped greatly with my nerves. It felt like having a friend alongside us, one who was dedicated to ensuring our special moments were preserved beautifully. I am blown away by your kindness in this review. And the amount of time it took for you to write this! Friend... you are amazing. Often times when I don't get to meet a couple for the first time until the wedding day, it takes some time to really fall into sync with them. I'm doing all my learning in those first few hours and figuring out the best way to pull them naturally out of their shell and make them glow in front of the camera. But with you and Giancarlo it took no time at all. The kindness and welcoming demeanor you both carry exudes from you so effortlessly. Thank you for inviting me into your day with open arms and trusting me entirely before I even started taking photos. Thank you to your families as well for being so incredibly kind. I will never forget your wedding day and seeing all of your people on the dance floor. It was perfection. And your outfit change... SO gorgeous!

When it comes to wedding photos, these are the memories to pass onto current and future generations of family. So you want a really good photographer. I can't say enough wonderful things about Amanda. From the very beginning, she got to know us as both as individuals and as a couple. From our engagement session to our wedding day, she made us feel comfortable and confident. She helped us organize everything from the wedding day timeline to the best outdoor lighting opportunities. She really paid attention to our vision, and made sure we got all the photo shots we wanted. During the wedding day, I was so impressed with how organized and punctual she was, and at the same time allowing us to feel like everything flowed organically. And when the sneak peaks came back, I was blown away! She captured our day beautifully. I will be so proud to show our wedding photos to everyone. My wife and I reviewed several photographers recommended to us for our wedding at The Magnolia Venue. After narrowing it down and interviewing three, we decided to go with Amanda May and we're SO GLAD we did! Amanda was so patient with us throughout the process and even helped us make some decisions outside of her responsibilities. We felt an instant connection with Amanda, allowing us to be comfortable, relaxed and ourselves. We went back and forth on whether to hire a videographer and instead decided to go with her sister-in-law Devin Fothergill (@Content_by_Dev) and have tons of raw video footage capturing candid moments and reliving every moment of our wedding day. 10 of 10, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amanda May and her great team your wedding!

I would recommend Amanda in a heart beat! It was so clear to us how dedicated and passionate she is as a photographer as soon as we spoke during our first initial phone call. She is highly professional and will ensure that everything goes smoothly for your wedding day. She was able to capture one of the most important days of our life so beautifully. I absolutely loved her easy going style and her light and airy editing. My husband and I along with our friends/family can't stop staring at our beautiful wedding photos!
