H1! I'm Laramie Renae, Owner and Photographer at Wandering Creative. I am a Wedding & Documentary Photographer, based in Memphis, TN. I am an avid documentarian, and I cannot wait to capture your day :)
I moved to Memphis to study music, so there is always an aspect of art in what I do. My specialties are elopements, micro weddings, and destination weddings. I’m originally from California, but have been living in and loving Memphis for the last 11 years. Kenya has a special place in my heart as well, so this basically means I'm consistently ready to hop on a plane. I'm enthralled by the real life, documentary aspect of photos. I want to capture you in real time. Let me also say, that if you're coming armed with disco balls and florals, or want to recreate one of your favorite photos, I am all about the drama. So glad I chose Wandering Creative
Laramie is FANTASTIC! Everyone keeps talking about how good the photos are, and my husband agrees and is glad we went with Wandering Creative like I wanted. She was able to cover the entire wedding and get those extra pics of the food and decorations, things that people don't really think about. AND she got the crucial moments. She literally captured his immediate reaction to seeing me coming down the aisle! I looked at so many photographers, but I kept coming back to Wandering Creative because I loved the photos and her vision so much. And she did not disappoint. These are photos that you will look back on for the rest of your life. One of my friends said it best when she said, “she really captured the energy of your wedding”. When I look at these photos, I remember and can feel our happiness and how much fun we had. And thanks to Wandering Creative, I always will.
Amazing micro-wedding photographer
Laramie is absolutely amazing! She graciously took us on as clients last minute after our original photographer canceled. From the very start she was our ally and so helpful during the process. We loved being able to spend the day with her and will treasure the photos forever. Cannot over recommend!!!!
A DREAM photographer
Laramie was our wedding photographer for our Chicago wedding last summer along with her husband Dylan as her second-photographer, and the whole process was a dream! Where do I even begin?! The planning process was smooth and stress-free. Laramie helped us organize family photo groups, portrait location spots, and recommended a schedule that made the entire day run like a well-oiled machine. She couldn't have made the process easier! When the wedding day came, Laramie was the BEST to work with. She kept to her timeline, and organized our very large wedding party and family without a hitch. We loved how the photos felt organic, too. She really made sure we felt comfortable and the photos represented us as a couple. Best of all, we had so much fun! My husband hates taking pictures, and five minutes into the process he smiled at me and said, "Wow, this is the best experience. Laramie and Dylan are the best!" I could repeat the day over and over again and wouldn't change a single second or photo that was taken. Now, onto the wedding photos... we were completely speechless when we received the sneak peaks, and then the full album came along. There are no words to describe how beautiful the images were. They were absolutely breathtaking. We receive compliments constantly on how good they turned out. Laramie and Dylan could not have captured the day more perfectly. We are forever grateful to have these memories for the rest of our lives!
Engagement Shoot with Wandering Creative
Laramie is a masterful artist, but she is also a wonderful, kind human being who knows very well how to make her clients feel at ease and comfortable in order to capture them both authentically and beautifully. Not for a second in this process did Laramie bulk at any of our ideas, however wild they may have been. She also gave us a lot of fantastic suggestions on where and how to get the best shots. Our engagement photos would certainly have been lacking if we didn’t have our dog, Reed, along for the ride with us. Laramie accommodated her presence every single step of the way, for all four hours of our photoshoot. Laramie was patient and so sweet with Reed throughout the day. She really embraced how special Reed is to us and leaned into that fully. Our gallery came back quickly and turned out even better than expected. Laramie made herself very accessible, from first contact to delivery, and was always quick to respond whenever I had questions. The process was as easy as could be, simple as that. We truly couldn’t have found a better photographer, or person, to have worked with for our engagement shoot. We’d choose Laramie over and over again to document this joyful occasion in our lives.
