More than anything, I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day. That meant I was committed to wearing a curly hairstyle with my natural texture. After searching for curl specialists near my venue in the Hudson Valley (and striking out repeatedly), I asked my hairdresser if anyone at Lil' Chop did weddings. As it turned out, Martha Ellen Mabry, the shop's owner, loves styling clients for their big day and was available for my date. Booking her was a no-brainer. I felt an instant connection and trust with Martha Ellen, who worked closely with me in our trial to ensure that my updo was not only the look I wanted but comfortable to wear for many, many hours. On my wedding day, she was a bright, calm and fun presence, and she totally nailed the look that everyone was hoping to achieve. My hair looked amazing all night, and the pins were placed so comfortably that I was able to fall asleep with the updo in. I'm so grateful that Martha Ellen was able to be part of my team, and I couldn't recommend her more highly.
