There are a lot of factors to consider when you start looking to book your hair and makeup artist. Usually, we recommend 6-9 months in advance of the wedding; anything less than this and you risk your top choice not being available! Reach out to different stylist, and look at their social media pages to see other weddings they have completed. Keep in mind the cheapest quote is not always the best option-time and money spent on "low cost" and "cheap" services almost always cost more in the end and you may not achieve the look you are wanting. Once you finalize your choice, book your date and sign contract.

Choosing a Hair and Makeup Artist can be a little overwhelming if you don't know exactly what or who you're looking for. Your Artist should be knowledgable to answer any questions and yet be comforting to know this is a big deal. We compiled a few questions that you should be asking: Basics Is my Date available? How far in Advance do I need to book with you? How long have you been in the business? Pricing Do you have Packages? Do you have individual prices? Do you have a travel fee? When will I receive contract? Styling What size party can you accommodate? Will you have assistants? How long will it take per person? How long do you stay?

It's generally customary for the bride to cover the cost of HMU for bridal party, as a "Thank you" but it's not universally required. The decision often depends on the brides budget, her specific expectations for the bridal party's look, and the financial situation of the bridesmaids.
