Owner/ Makeup Artist

Makeup by Nicole was established in 2007. Nicole Tooze, owner/makeup artist, started at Family Christian Center working in the makeup ministry. From there, she developed a love and passion for makeup. In 2017, Nicole officially became a Certified International Makeup Artist. Nicole's had great opportunities to work with amazing people, local organizations, film productions, Arab World Fest, Thyck Troupe Chicago, Live Out Loud Charity and even R&B singer Tweet. In 2018, Nicole was honored with the "Makeup Artist of the Year" Award through the LOLC organization. She not only offers but guarantees her clients the best of her services each time.

I believe that my personality and quality of work sets me apart. I love to meet and talk to new people. Being in the beauty industry, this is something of an attribute to possess. I love learning about each person and their stories. Having a great laugh or even just listening to music. Not only do I love to learn about them as a person, but also I love to learn and understand what each bride is looking to achieve on their special day.

    Be cautious when booking. I booked her back in July of last year for a trial and for my wedding. When it came time for my trial I had to reach out to her to confirm we were still on. I replied to the original email were we confirmed the date and time. She took a while to reply and when she finally did, did not tell me until 1am the morning of our appointment that she was all of a sudden not available and "might" be available the next day. I understand that life happens but this should have been communicated well before the day of my appointment. If this is how someone is for a trial god knows if she would have shown up for my wedding day. Not a great way to run a business. I have now had to go and find someone else because I cant trust she would have shown up. Didn't even reach out when to me when I told her I wanted to cancel our booking. Extremely disappointed with how this went down.

    I'm sorry you feel this way Lauren. It was never my intention to miss your trial. As I explained, I am in a new job and this day was one of our mandatory work days. I explained I had a trial but they mentioned this wasn't anything to go around on. And the reason why it was so late at night is because I was messaging a few supervisors throughout the night to get out of it and didn't When I mentioned might for Sunday, that was something I hoped we could have communicated on. I had a rental I was returning that I could have extended, but I needed to find out more information. I didn't receive any. I live 2 hours away from the location where the trial was taking place. Also, to why I said might, hoping to hear back so we could discuss. I was trying to make it up on another time just never heard anything. I wish you the best.

    Makeup by Nicole was an absolute dream to work with for my wedding! From the initial consultation to the day-of, their communication was amazing - they were responsive, attentive, and made me feel completely at ease. The quality of their work was truly beautiful, long-lasting, and professional. During my trial and on my wedding day, my makeup stayed flawless through everything. Nicole clearly knows exactly what she's doing and is so talented at her craft. On top of that, her wonderful personality was such a bonus and made the experience even more enjoyable. I cannot recommend Makeup by Nicole highly enough - they played a huge role in making me feel my absolute best on my special day!

    Nicole was amazing!! She cared about how I felt about my face and made me feel like I could tell her exactly how I felt about each step of make up!! She is awesome!! And remember to feed/caffeinate the people working on you!!! They deserve it!!

    Nicole did a great job doing our makeup for my wedding. She is easy to talk to and really knows what she’s doing, she caters to your personal wants really well and is able to help you decide between different looks if you’re struggling to pick something out. I really appreciated her help with my mom and bridesmaid.
