Molly’s Cupcakes opened in 2007 in the heart of Lincoln Park, Chicago. Within 2 years of being open, we won the Food Network Competition Cupcake Wars! This love of cupcakes started when the founder was just in third grade. Molly was his third grade teacher, and whenever there was a special occasion, she would make her special recipe cupcakes for her students. As John grew older, Molly’s care for her students never left his mind. He decided to open Molly’s Cupcakes in her memory. As our company has grown, so has our love for helping others create lasting memories.

Not only do we use high quality ingredients, our flavors are unique and nostalgic all at the same time. Our center-filled cupcakes are an amazing twist on the classic cupcake with frosting. Each filling adds a bite you didn’t know you needed. With 16 flavors of cupcakes, 5 cheesecakes, 8 cookie flavors, and more, we can make any occasion special to your wants. No two occasions are the same, your treats shouldn’t be either. Which is why we offer customization options for any of your events’ needs.

    My (now) husband and I are from Chicago and love Molly’s cupcakes. We got married in Michigan and struggled big time to find a baker in the town to do our cake, so decided we’d go with Molly’s because they’re one of our favorite dessert spots in the city. Everything ended up working out fine, and I would recommend them, but I would recommend asking plenty of questions and confirming everything clearly before booking and pick up as we ran into a few issues along the way. For example, they were unable to do seasonal flavors of cupcakes, but they didn’t tell us this clearly until about a month before our wedding (and well after we had booked). And while our emails stated we planned to pick up the order a day in advance of our event, the order form wasn’t as clear, so the bakers thought it was day of and there was a big misunderstanding at time of pick up… thankfully they were able to put everything together and it all worked out, and everything was delicious and we had loads of compliments - but it was a little extra stress to have to manage than anticipated.

    We loved working with Sabrina at Mollys cupcakes in Skokie. She made everything so easy for us and they were so flexible. It made wedding planning so much easier. I would definitely recommend cupcakes over wedding cake since you can get more flavors.
