Cakes Beyond The Realm

After baking and decorating cakes for over 30 years, in 2014 I was faced with the challenge of making my own wedding cake. I also wanted to include embellishments to enhance the overall grandeur of the cake that were not consumable. The solution, create a beautiful faux cake featuring all of the grandeur I desired far in advance of the actual wedding date. I discovered that my true passion is decorating, not baking. I loved what I was doing, but God gives you a gift for a reason. I wanted to use that gift. I talked to my husband about it and he was very supportive, so I took a leap of faith.

It was a huge success, and I later found that many larger venues actually preferred the faux cakes. It is a lot less expensive and a lot more fun. The faux cakes are artificial works of art for use at weddings, anniversaries, and other special events. My faux cakes have the exact aroma and look of baked cakes because of the real fondant icing they are covered with. The materials used also include string beading, Swarovski crystals, metal wires, lighting, Styrofoam, wood dowels, hand made paste flowers, icing gel colors, air brushing and more.
