Aloha! I'm Roman. I've been living on the magical island of O'ahu since I came to UH Manoa in 2009 for my Economics Degree. I got involved with the University radio station (90.1 FM), started doing live events, and really loved showing off my rare music finds. Nothing beats the feeling of rocking a live crowd for track after track, especially after the long pause in events! DJing is all I do for "work", and I love it! Each wedding or event I play is full of different people and different ages from all over the world, and they all have differing tastes in music- blending so many different genres and styles of music is such a fun challenge!
Unlike some of the larger DJ companies on island, I'm a 'one-man band.' I don't have a receptionist, any other DJ's to switch out with at the last minute, or a separate MC guy handling microphone announcements and trying to be funny- you're working with me start to finish as DJ & MC on throwing an awesome wedding party. I take 10-50 songs/artists/genres in a 'Must Play' and 'Do Not Play' list so my music is spot on for your wedding night. I stay away from the super cheesy 'Macarena' and 'Chicken Dance' type songs unless specifically requested by you. I'll also take live requests from you and your wedding guests and work those into the mix.

Everything you need to get your wedding party started! Up to 6 hours of your favorite music mixed live by DJ Roman Candles. Up to 150 guests, reception only (one location on property). Includes wireless mics for speeches/toasts and dance lighting. I also handle any and all announcements as the MC, and encourage guests if the dance floor doesn't immediately fill up (it usually does!).

Battery Powered Ceremony (Plus One Hour)

It can be hard to hear the ceremony over the wind and waves, especially if there's more than 15 guests. My wireless, battery powered ceremony system has everything you need for a beach, jungle, or mountain ceremony away from it all. Handheld mic used if high wind, also for other speakers/readers or if officiant prefers it. One lapel mic on officiant and one on groom picks up everything. I can also use the battery speaker for cocktail hour at a third location on property.

Wireless LED Uplighting

Imagine your wedding venue lit up in your favorite colors. Really adds to the ambiance! The lights can also change color and strobe when it's time to get the party started. With the UV and Amber LEDs, I can get deep purples, blues, oranges, and pinks. They look even more incredible for outdoor weddings on O'ahu! 16 is enough to cover spaces for up to around 150 guests. $150 per pack of 4 uplights, up to 40 available. Bulk discount if booked with my other DJ packages.

Excellent DJ! The best!!!!
DJ Roman Candles was excellent! He pulled off a set that was beyond our wildest dreams. We had a brief phone meeting a week before the wedding about how we wanted the vibe to be and he pulled it off perfectly. Us and our guests were blown away by his performance. After the wedding, all of our guests were raving how awesome he was! He blended all of our requested genres. The transitions between genres and between songs were spot on! He had all of our guests up and dancing. Our wedding coordinator said he was very easy to work and communicate with. He was very organized and had all the equipment we needed. He also took care of the emcee duties and did an awesome job! He had an app we could use to upload all of our song requests. We found it very useful for organizing the songs we wanted played at each part of the night. He totally killed it and we could not imagine anyone doing better. 10/10. We can’t stop watching videos of how fun the night went! Totally recommend DJ Roman Candles for your wedding or any other events!!!
One of the best parts of our wedding!
Roman is so easy going, so helpful, and so professional! He is amazing at his job, reading the room, and keeping a panicking couple calm. He rolls with all the random changes and last minute problems like an absolute champ. He is also incredibly kind and an excellent DJ! My husband and I cannot stop singing his praises.

From start to finish, Roman was the best to work with. He was prompt in responding to my initial request for a quote. He made sure to answer all my questions before we agreed to a contract. He checked in with me several times before our big day. The best part was the website he uses to create your timeline and add any songs. I was able to add songs from my Spotify playlists and search for other songs. He worked great with my coordinator and my officiant. He played all the requested songs and our guests had such a great time on the dance floor. Another thing that I thought was great was that Roman literally played music until the last second even though most of the guests had left already and nobody was on the dance floor. Highly recommend Roman for your DJ and Emcee needs.
