Welcome. In 2016 Jordan & Jocelyn launched their bartending services division in Los Angeles with the intention of providing the best bartenders available. Known for their work ethic, professionalism, and friendliness, their staff has mixed drinks for every type and size of event, ranging from exclusive dinner parties to thousand-person movie premiers.

“When we were planning our wedding, my now wife and I decided early that we wanted to provide a limited open bar for the reception. When we got in touch with This Girl Walks Into a Bar, Jordan was super-responsive and collaborative. Over email, we talked about our wish-list and budget. We decided that we'd have two signature cocktails, two beers, a red wine, and a white. For the cocktails, Jordan sent us several popular recipes, and together we were able to whittle down to a short-list of around 6 possible drinks. Jordan then scheduled an in-person visit to our home with us and a couple members of the bridal party for a taste-test. Very fun! On the day of the event, Jordan and her staff were punctual, professional, and fully stocked with everything they needed. All of our guests complimented us on the fine, friendly service provided. When all was said and done, Jordan went the extra mile by giving us a self-published recipe book and even sending us the cocktail recipes that we had chosen so that we could relive the big day. It might be a while before we are able to schedule another big party, but we would certainly work with This Girl Walks Into a Bar again!”

Our party was filled with low-key cocktail snobs, so we wanted to make sure we requested unique cocktails that we could not make ourselves. “Dear Becky, Considering your abysmal treatment of me and my business partner, I am disappointed by all the false claims in your review. I was hoping some time and reflection on your part would improve your disposition but I see, sadly, it hasn't. As you have noted in your review, I do strive to put my clients at ease and provide support for them on their journey to their wedding day. This includes the tasting you mentioned, which I charge a very small fee to cover ingredients and travel. At the end of that two-hour tasting of over 10 different cocktails, not once did you express any dissatisfaction with any of the drinks, but instead raved about the drinks and asked for refills (specifically the espresso martini, which you chose as one of your specialty cocktails). Following this tasting, I continued to work with your additional demands of uncompensated site visits to a location over an hour outside my service area and an additional uncompensated tasting. This still was not enough to satisfy you. I was asked to attend a second site visit, which I politely declined. You then asked for another uncompensated tasting to "practice" making a Painkiller, a drink that I supplied you with during our initial tasting. Unable to accommodate your last minute request, I asked you to send me your version of the recipe, so I could be sure to make it to your standards on your wedding day and you proceeded to send me the exact same recipe I used to prepare this drink at your tasting. To clarify on which services were "out of scope," meaning, not that I cannot provide these services, but that these services do incur extra charges. These services include: • A third specialty cocktail (two are included with my package) • Pre-batching those 3 specialty cocktails, which I simply added on an hour of service time to be able to prepare this in time for service • The addition of 20 more guests, which changes the initial service quote • The addition of 2 mocktails, also pre-batched, which incurs an additional charge for additional ingredients and prep time necessary and is also considered a specialty cocktail. This, you added on a week before your event and insisted on making yourself, so as not to incur the extra charges. I never asked you to. • The addition of a second bartender, who you repeatedly refer to as "my wife". She is, in fact, my business partner and a certified bartender. All of the above services were added on after our initial consultation, within the weeks leading up to your wedding. And after I updated your invoice (in which I was already giving you a discounted rate) to include some of these changes, you proceeded to call me and scream at me over daring to charge you extra for things you asked for. I am very mindful of budgets and have worked with countless clients to find solutions and services that fit within their budgets. I, however, am a business and cannot work for free. Any stress added to your plate, was due to your unwillingness to properly compensate me for these additions as well as making constant changes leading up to the week of your wedding. In the 3 years I've been in business and over a hundred events my business partner and I have bartended, you are the only client I have had to part ways with. I am happy you found someone you trusted more than me to make your wedding a success and I wish you all the best on your new marriage.”

He got us a shopping list based on what we were serving which was incredibly helpful and made our overwhelming last month of wedding prep so much less stressful. “I booked Bri for my backyard wedding and I have nothing but great things to say about her! She was amazing to work with start to finish. My wedding day had some surprise rain so her and our bartender, Nicole (who was also amazing) showed up extra early just to be prepared. My favorite things about the service were: 1. “Setting up and planning everything with the person online was wondering and really gave me high hopes! Everything went super smoothly. They gave me a comprehensive shopping list and helped finesse all the recipes for our mocktail bar. Also checked in a few times prior to the wedding to make sure we were all on the same page. Now the bartender who came was a different story. She forget several of her tools needed including knives for all the garnishes. I had bought quite a bit of oranges, lemons, limes etc. She was also incredibly rude and several people remarked to me about that during the wedding day and after the wedding. She looked miserable and angry the whole time at the wedding. The only time I went to the bar, she wasn’t there and after about 10 minutes of waiting around, she came back and I asked to try all my mocktails and she gave me a judgy look and said that she was already made a drink for the bride earlier. I asked again and finally after my husband asked with me she made them but reluctantly. Mind you, this was a nonalcoholic bar. Overall liked Bucky’s, but the bartender was who worked with them was having an off day.”
