Hey there! I'm Fernando Ávila. I founded Ellyce Wedding Films while my wife and I were planning our wedding in 2019. By this point, I had already accumulated 15 years of experience shooting wedding videos and my wife simply couldn't understand why I wasn't booking my own clients. She encouraged me to explore the idea. So, here we are. I named my company after my wife, Ebony Ellyce Ávila.

I grew-up in Belém, the state of Pará, in Brazil. When I explain where Belém is, I always say it is next to the Amazon. I also say what a beautiful city it is. After Belém I moved to Rio, where I realized how much passion I have for photography. It wasn't until I came to Chicago that I could be myself and do what I love. Hi! I'm Soohyun, I began working with my creative partner Saehee shorty after our wedding in 2009. I has been a fine arts photographer for more than 19 years, and my wife Saehee began as a video editor in television and radio but found her passion behind the lens. Together with Saehee we came to Chicago in 2012, where I received my MFA in Photography from the University of Illinois Chicago.
