We are incredibly grateful Xenia was our engagement/wedding photographer and couldn't be happier with the results! The photos will speak to her technical talent; her professionalism and dedication to her craft are evident in every shot. It was so hard for me to only select 6 photos. What the images don't explicitly show is that Xenia was an absolute joy to work with. She is clear, transparent, and helpful in her communication. Her straightforward and friendly communication ensured we were always on the same page and felt supported throughout the process. While shooting, she is organized and efficient. We got every shot we hoped for and then some. Her enthusiasm and joy were infectious. She made these two awkward nerds feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. We cannot recommend Xenia enough! We will cherish the photos you took forever!

Okay, so I've never done anything like this before. Never had a photo shoot or anything close to it. I was a little nervous and my fiancé was definitely not excited because he is not a picture/camera type of guy. First off, Tom made us feel so comfortable and made a funny little joke right from the gate. He didn't give us even a second to feel weird. He guided us to the right poses and then let us do what felt natural. AND OH MY GOSH!! The results were EPIC! It couldn't had been a more perfect session with such an amazing photographer!! He is amazing!!!! I just can't wait for him to do our wedding!!! I highly recommend him and will be using him for ANY and ALL future events and special memories!

I'm a digital and film Wedding Photographer in Los Angeles, CA. I'm trilingual and multicultural -- and it's my favorite thing about me. I will travel Southern California for your love story, from San Diego to LA, to Santa Barbara. My style is documentary and photojournalistic with a bit of an editorial and creative charm. I do not bend and sway with the trends of the current day, instead I focus on your unique wedding day to capture timeless imagery. As the moments unfold before me, I will help tell your story. I want you to look back on your images and be able to still feel the emotions within them for decades to come, truly.

Fatima is such an amazing photographer! We loved working with her for our engagement shoot and wedding. We really appreciated her professionalism and open-mindedness since she hadn’t been to either location before. We received our wedding photos about a month ago and we were so impressed with the quantity and quality of photos! The variety and naturalism is exactly what we had in mind. We will definitely treasure these photos for years to come and we hope to work with Fatima again in the future!

I’m Mysi (pronounced, boringly, “Missy”)! I’ve been at this thing for 12 years and I keep falling more and more in love with it all. Give me intimate micro-weddings, quirky dive bar weddings, raucous South Asian weddings... my team and I absolutely thrive in chaos and emotion. My specialty is catching the moments and those tiny moments in between. ✨✨✨

Awarded Best of Zola
We were nervous when it came to hiring a photographer, because after the whirlwind of the day, photos are one of the only things you get to keep once the day is over that help you relive the moments. We had heard so many horror stories and knew it was one of the most important decisions we were going to make. But thankfully, hiring Mysi was truly one of the BEST DECISIONS we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, she was intentional, thoughtful, and so easy to work with. She made it a priority to meet with us in person—not just to talk logistics, but to get a feel for how we interact with each other. She wanted to understand our dynamic so she could best capture authentic, candid moments on the day. That personal touch meant a lot to us. She even took the time to drive up to our venue (a private residence) in advance to scout out the space. Watching her creativity come to life as she walked through the house and surrounding areas was such a fun and reassuring moment—we knew we were in great hands. We didn’t want just traditional posed photos; we wanted a mix of candid, artistic, and emotionally rich shots that told the full story of the day. She completely delivered. The final gallery was more beautiful than we could’ve imagined—natural, warm, and full of moments we didn’t even realize she had caught. We showed a few of the preview photos to people who didn't attend the wedding, and they all had nothing but compliments for how stunning the photos were. It's only been a few months, but we can't stop looking at the photos. They bring us back to the exact moment in time they were taken and we are able to relive the memories. Literally the only negative is that we can't figure out what our favorites are because they are all that great! We’re beyond grateful and couldn’t recommend Mysi more highly. If you want a photographer who truly sees you and puts her heart into every frame, she’s the one.

Weddings are indeed stressful. The whole process of trying to figure out what our kids wanted, needed or desired for their wedding creates a situation where there are just too many options out there and it gets confusing or even overwhelming. With Michael’s experience, he was able to cut through a lot of the questions and made things very very simple and manageable. His discussion with the happy couple beforehand gave him an idea as to where he wanted to go in a direction with the photos was a nice considerate touch. He arrived earlier in the day to work out all the finer details with the facility and during the wedding and even after made everything, not only very easy but fun and entertaining for everybody who participated. The quality of the photos and the uniqueness and time put into each one of them may this a great experience. I can’t recommend him enough.

Loved all the images! We wanted mainly candid photos and only gave poor AM like 15 minutes of posed photos and they nailed it. We we able to spend the maximum amount of time with our guests, which is exactly what we wanted. We were able to fully be present in the moment and enjoy our wedding and still got stellar shots of the 2 of us! Very grateful.

Marry Me Studio was an excellent choice for our wedding photography. Iman's communication was efficient, polite, and professional throughout the entire process. They show up on time and work efficiently. The quality of the work and the value provided were outstanding. The photos from our engagement session were fantastic, and we can't wait to see the wedding photos, which we know will be just as excellent. They really know what they are doing and were also open to incorporating our specific preferences. The Marry Me Studio team made sure the entire event was properly captured, and we are confident the final photos and video will beautifully preserve the memories of our special day.

While some photographers emphasize their gear or trendy post-processing, I take pride in subject-photographer interaction - the relation I build with clients, picking up on nuances in pose and expression while we shoot, anticipating the viewers' response - because ultimately, that's how photographs that matter to us are created. I'm a native New Yorker who found myself relocating to Los Angeles and making it my home. Wherever you'd like to have your wedding, it would be my pleasure to be your photographer.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had the privilege of having Stephen photograph our entire wedding day! We could not be more happier with how the entire day was documented. Photography was one of the top vendors we prioritized our budget for. Each photo came out so great and I'm having a great time sharing them with family and friends. Stephen has wonderful communication, organization, and photography talents! - Planning: I found Stephen from Instagram and it so happened that he had worked with both our coordinator and venue previously. What attracted me first from his profile was his lighting/editing style - not too much overly exposed or brighten or romanticized photos. We not only preferred a more realistic color in our photos, but knew that our venue may not accommodate that bright style due to it being mainly indoors. Stephen took the initiative to set up a first meeting as well. We appreciated this as I know it's important for photographers and their clients to have good chemistry. We appreciated how straight forward Stephen was and how much his passion for capturing raw moments showed. It was clear that he shows that he likes to have fun while taking photographs and trying all kinds of ways of shooting, which was definitely demonstrated on the day of. Stephen was very organized and punctual from contracts to scheduling to communication. - Day of: Stephen was great during the wedding day! He was organized and made his own schedule with our coordinator's to be sure to get all requested and desired shots in during the day. He came so prepared with so many different poses in mind that there was never a moments where us and the wedding party never felt awkward or anything! Taking photos was fun and a very smooth and memorable process. I had the most fun taking pictures with my girls. I loved all the photos of the family, guests, and dancing as well. Stephen even took some time out during dancing to get some cool couple shots at night. I appreciated the film shots as well. Stephen took authority throughout the day and was so kind and accommodating. - Post-wedding: Stephen edits so quickly!! We got sneak peaks within a couple days. I wasn't sure how long all the photos would take and a few friends were saying theirs took 2-3 months! However, Stephen got an entire day's worth of photos to us in one month!!! He got the guest and family shots down, couple and bridal party shots captured, and perfect couple shots as well. I love all the lighting and color editing. He captured great candid moments as well. We have been staring at them ever since receiving them! Thank you so much Stephen for providing these photos for us! They are something we will remember our special day by! It was great working with you!

Gabbie Burseth Photo

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $7,200
  • Serves Veterans Administration, CA

Gabbie Burseth grew up documenting everything and saving mementos in empty Christmas boxes. After studying at the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia, she discovered an affinity for weddings and their accompanying treasures. Her philosophy as a wedding photographer is to observe with as little interference as possible — no faking it, no do-overs, no “for the camera”. Her biggest desire is for couples to be present at their wedding, not stuck in a photoshoot. Her work is punctuated by rich and vibrant color, the timeless quality of analog film, and a sense of humor found in fleeting moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
The professionalism, raw talent, and sweet demeanor are only a few of the exquisite gifts Gabbie offers. If you are looking for a photographer who is the complete package, look no further. When selecting wedding vendors, every blog post will tell you that choosing your photographer is one of the most important (if not the most important). However, little information is provided after that tidbit, which can be daunting for an excited (albeit overwhelmed) bride who wants every detail of their wedding to be perfect. Sean, my now husband, and I had selected our venue, The 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA., and our coordinator, Allison, with West Events LA, provided us with a list of her preferred vendors -- insert us coming across Gabbie. I remember going to her website, scrolling through her work, and being enamored with how each photo captured a different emotion and feeling. We both immediately knew that from looking at her work alone, we wanted our photos to look and feel the same. After sending an inquiry and coordinating a call, Gabbie & I spoke on the phone for close to an hour about what we had in mind for our wedding, and I remember it all clicking when Gabbie described her work as "documentary" style. Sean and I knew we didn't want a videographer for our wedding, so Gabbie's techniques and overall vision aligned perfectly with what Sean and I wanted. We also opted to do a round of engagement photos with Gabbie 5 months before our wedding, where she came into our home to take photos of us in our most comfortable and natural state (chasing our dogs around the yard) and then for a shoot at a local winery that we love to go to. Not only did we have such a fun and great experience, but we also felt so comfortable and relaxed with Gabbie. We almost forgot we were there to have our photos taken! We received the gallery back shortly after and were so thrilled. Fast-forward to our wedding, we had hired Gabbie a second shooter for 8 hours. They met us at the venue for the final getting-ready details around 1 pm and stayed through to a good portion of the dance floor, around 9 pm. They arrived promptly and were even extra helpful with Sean when getting his suit on! While those details may seem minor to some, it was that unique care and attention from both Gabbie and her second shooter that made Sean & I, and all of our guests, feel so beautiful and confident to be themselves. When Sean and I got our gallery back, we spent a solid three hours scrolling through every captured moment, laughing, crying, and squealing with excitement. I am not exaggerating when I say that seeing the captured images and how Gabbie so beautifully arranged them in the album was purely magic. Any time we go through the album, we genuinely feel transported back to that day, and there is no doubt in my mind it is because of Gabbie's pure mastery of her craft. As part of her thorough questionnaire, one of the questions was what percentage of digital-to-film prints we would like, and for ours, we chose 50:50. I'm so glad we opted for film, and I almost wish we had had more because these photos are indeed what dreams are made of. The icing on the cake, Gabbie also wrote us an adorable card after the wedding, which included 3 of the film prints. Sean & I will forever be grateful to Gabbie for her work and friendship. We love you!!

Jess is a wedding photographer serving couples from Los Angeles to New York City. She specializes in documenting moments with honesty and optimism to showcase her couples’ love for each other, love for their people and their love for a damn good time. “My work is bold, enduring, and honest.” With more than a decade of experience as a photographer and a background in fine art and film photography, Jess approaches each wedding with intention and a sense of novelty. She works in both digital and film mediums and her work has been featured in publications including Martha Stewart Weddings, Destination I Do and Brides.

Awarded Best of Zola
Since receiving our wedding photos from Jess, several of my friends and family members (including 2 professional photographers!) have asked me for her contact info because of how amazing her photos are!! When we started looking for a wedding photographer, we knew that we needed to find someone with a great eye for candids, who wouldn't make our pictures feel too staged, who had a fun/funky vibe like us, and who could handle wrangling my extremely large family (full of very opinionated people) for family photos, and Jess handled everything with ease! I feel so lucky that we found Jess, and I cannot recommend her more. Jess made everyone feel comfortable throughout the entire wedding day, and even gave guidance to family members who are normally awkward in photos (e.g. suggesting ways to pose to make them more comfortable). Jess went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process, checking in with us, getting to know us, and even coming to a venue walkthrough so she could get a sense of the space! I am so grateful for all of the work Jess put into our wedding, and the photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I rarely even like photos of myself, but I honestly am so in love with the ones that Jess took that I jump on every opportunity to whip out my phone and share them with friends!

Hi! I’m Jordan, a wedding and event photographer and videographer dedicated to capturing love stories with authenticity and artistry. My style focuses on natural moments, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident. From intimate elopements to grand celebrations, I document your day with timeless, beautifully edited images. Beyond weddings, I also specialize in capturing milestone moments like graduation portraits and formal events. Let’s work together to create unforgettable memories that you’ll cherish for years to come!

Awarded Best of Zola
I have known Jordan for a while as an event photographer and wasn't sure if he did grad pictures, especially for groups. I was pleased to figure out that he does grad photos too and is extremely flexible about it! I had a group of around 11 people, and he was able to give me quick responses about the rate, which was an absolute deal. Jordan really cares for his clients and makes sure that everything is discussed before the event, including an itinerary. He was extremely flexible if we needed an extra hour and potential location itinerary changes. Coordinating 11 people for a photo shoot is not easy, but Jordan managed to do it with ease, attention to detail, and efficiency! Thanks to his expertise and creativity with poses and shots, we got some amazing solo and group shots that we will remember for a lifetime. He magically makes the experience very efficient, but is also not afraid to have fun! Highly recommend!

I took up photography at the ripe age of 11 with a Polaroid I borrowed from an aunt. It quickly became my sketchbook as I worked to capture stills of the world and people around me. Those images have continued to pay emotional dividends throughout my life, helping me better understand what I have now come to see through a new scope. They are grounding, melancholic, funny and beautiful. Some of my most cherished possessions.

We enjoyed the overall experience with Indigo West from the start. He understood our preference for mostly candid photography and he did mostly that, leaving us plenty of time to mingle with guests. The photos he did direct we also loved it was nice he kept that quick, which made it very easy for us! Very happy with this vendor!

Her communication was thorough, she regularly set up appointments to meet, discuss expectations, and check-in. She also sent regular information emails with advice and recommendations. On the day she was early, thorough, checked in with me regularly, easy to work with, and just a calming presence to have for the day. She really moved with the flow and was all over the place capturing everything she could. I asked for several specific pictures or things that I was looking for, and she got everything. My pictures are beautiful, I keep looking at them and getting emotional. I received sneak peeks within 72 hours and was surprised how many she already had ready! Everything I could have asked for and more, Magaly did. She took extra steps to ensure that our day was wonderful and I just appreciate her so much.

Remo was our wedding photographer in 2016 when we eloped, and again in 2016 when we had a bigger ceremony with friends and family. I could go on and on about how much I loved my pictures, but I want to talk about the human behind the lens. Remo is such a genuinely kind person, and has such an ease with which he handles clients. I felt so relaxed with him and it made our time together flow smoothly. I also spoke to him in great detail about the visions I had for both days, and he went above and beyond to make sure I had the day I wanted to have and the memories I wanted to capture. Finally, nearly 10 years later, I could no longer find my pictures, and I reached out to him because we'd lost our beloved family pet. I had no idea if he would even remember me, let alone still have our pictures. Within 10 minutes of my call, I got a message from him with my pictures from 2016. I got to have the treasured picture of our sweet dog, which has made my heart heal just a little bit more smoothly. I love the work he did for us, but I love even more the professional behind the lens, with the human touch, that has made all the difference! Would recommend without hesitation!

My name is Sarahi. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Since a child, I loved photographing with old polaroids and disposable cameras.. My family used to complain about the 100's of pictures I captured and how many rolls of film I used. Now, I look back at pictures from 10+ years ago, and see the beauty of "stopping time" in photos and keeping them forever. I see how it brings happiness to the people around me and myself. Nothing makes me happier than people looking back at precious memories. I can't wait to extend this experience to you and create an everlasting memory that you can carry for years to follow.

Choosing photography was one of the most important vendors for our special day. Sarahi Photo was the best choice for us. We knew she was the one when we had our consultation call. She preps you for your wedding and provides great information. The wedding was smoother because of the photo team! Everyone was great and the pictures came out beautiful! Also the engagement session is complimentary, so accept it! The engagements made us excited for the wedding and took the stress off the wedding. The engagement photos for beautiful as well. She captured our love!

A graduate of the Art Center College of Design, Joey brings his love of design, composition, and attention to detail to each and every photo.

My husband and I worked alongside Joey at a wedding a few years back. We were the videography team for the day so we were able to have an in-depth view of Joey's work as a photographer. He was very thorough, professional, and personable throughout the entire day. He ran his ideas for the overall plan for the day by not only us, but the clients and other vendors to make sure all of our expectations were met. The ceremony took place in a church and Joey was very respectful of the rules in place. The wedding day was unseasonably hot, even for July in the South, but Joey kept a smile on his face and a good attitude throughout the entire day.
