George Street Photo and Video

5.0

  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,295
  • Serves Tuxedo Park, NY
  • Offer

George Street Photo and Video has one story to tell: Yours. With over twenty years of experience, our award-winning team has been lucky to capture thousands of weddings for our couples across the United States. Specializing in both wedding photography and videography, we offer affordable and customizable packages starting at $1295 that are designed to suit your unique vision and budget. We even offer a fun style test to help us match you with a photographer that aligns with the vibe of your day.

I’m SO satisfied with our experience booking with George Street! I was drawn to them because I thought they were more reasonably priced compared to what some individual photographers are charging these days (we’re in the Seattle market), but I didn’t feel like the price advantage came at a sacrifice of quality. I loved the photos our photographer John C. took (who was AMAZING!) for both our engagement/portrait session and of course the photos on the day of the wedding. He did a fantastic job capturing all the beautiful memories we made that day, and we are so grateful. The booking process was really simple, too—I arranged a meeting with one of their sales reps (Amber) who did an excellent job explaining exactly how their company works, the packages available, how to choose your photographer and so on. Once we booked with them, we were given access to an online portal to put in all the necessary info that would be passed along to the photographer. One thing I would say is that because you are contracting with a company and not the individual photographer, you aren’t able to communicate directly with the photographer very often. You really are hiring them for photography only, so collaborating with them on the event timeline and other details is not really an option. Any questions you have generally need to be sent via the wedding coordinators at George Street, as you won’t even receive your photographer’s email or phone number until you actually meet them (it’s possible this is not the case for everyone, but just our experience). To be clear, this was NOT an issue for us at all, but just something to be aware of if a more hands-on photographer that can help with coordination and planning is really what you’re looking for.

Lindsay with Mostest was AMAZING! She helped us tremendously when the event planner for the Charleston Princess quit just a few weeks before my daughter’s wedding. There were many obstacles to navigate including not being able to board the vessel to set up and decorate until 2 hours before guests would begin boarding. Lindsay single handedly transported a car load of personalized details, decorations, party favors, bar items, extra linens, numerous picture frames and a huge Charleston Harbor nautical chart that served as the guest book. She had to take several trips from her car down a very long pier to get to the boat and set it all up in such a short time span. She managed it all beautifully! The timeline she created was amazing and we were actually a bit ahead of schedule prior to the ceremony. This gave us all some time to relax while sweet Lindsay was preparing for all of our guests to arrive. After the reception, Lindsay stayed on board and began packing up all of our special items carefully. We returned to the vessel after sending the bride and groom off, to find that she had managed to pack most of our items without our help. I can’t say enough about all that she did for us, especially with all of the hiccups and stresses we faced the last few weeks. She handled everything with such grace and poise! This MOB was quite stressed with the adversity we were facing that was out of our control and Lindsay smoothed everything out!! I can’t say enough about her!! If you are in the Charleston area and you’re looking for a wedding planner reach out to Mostest and don’t forget to request Lindsay! She feels like family to us!! Lindsay From the bottom of our hearts, we APPRECIATE YOU! Beth Dodds

Something Borrowed Blooms

4.9

  • Florist
  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Tuxedo Park, NY

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

Something Borrowed Blooms provided the most lifelike and luxurious floral arrangements for our wedding day. The bouquets, ceremony pieces and boutonnieres were all incredibly realistic and high quality, with vibrant colors and lush textures that exceeded our expectations. In fact, as my husband and I were taking photos in a park, a bee even tried to pollinate my bouquet, drawn to its beauty and realism. Getting the boxes to the venue did require a bit of coordination, but with a little help from friends we were able to easily box them up the day after the wedding and ship them off via FedEx. We saved easily 2,000 thanks to Something Borrowed and you would never know the flowers were fake.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Tuxedo Park, NY

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
Exceptional service. Flowers don't always travel well. The flowers I ordered for my daughter's wedding bouquet and the grooms boutonniere. They arrived in less than ideal condition I contacted customer service and Alexa was incredibly helpful. She not only sent new flowers overnight but was truly concerned that they now arrived in great condition. The new flowers were gorgeous and perfect. I will be buying all my flowers from Flower Moxie. Thank you Alexa.

She doesn't treat her clients as if it is just a business transaction but rather she creates a relationship with her clients that they hold on to dearly. She is known for great communication, understanding and the willingness to work with her clients to the best of her ability.

Working with Miranda, Raquel, and Kylie was a true pleasure. Kylie assisted us at our rehearsal the day before our wedding, practicing the ceremony to ensure we understood the process and best practices for each bridal party member. Miranda and Raquel were there for us on our wedding date, helping set up decor, running to get breakfast for the bridal party, and being the point of contact with all our vendors. At one point, as the bride, I was getting overstimulated with all the pictures being taken in a short amount of time, and Miranda/Raquel had my back by making sure I had water and 30 minutes to center before our ceremony. I'd recommend Start Rose Creations to family and friends for any event.

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
The bouquets were absolutely beautiful and fit my vision exactly! All of the flowers and decor complemented the venue perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for. Kate was great to work with, from the initial communication and planning to making several adjustments to our plan over time to sending a preview of the bouquet. We were also able to visit her studio in person and rent candles which was a huge help. Overall working with Kate was so easy and stress free and she really has a knack for bringing a vision to life! Thank you!

Marilyn Lamanna Photography

5.0

  • Photographer

  • Serves Tuxedo Park, NY

Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.

Awarded Best of Zola
I couldn’t say better things about Marilyn if I tried. She was the first photographer who’s portfolio we fell for in our search, and while trying to budget and explore other options, we made our way back to Marilyn and questioned why we ever even bothered looking anywhere else. We did a round of engagement photos with her first, after an initial zoom to meet and get to know her. From the zoom alone we could tell right away what kind of sweet, wonderful, magical person she was. I felt like I was talking to an old friend immediately. During our engagement shoot, which myself and my now husband were SO nervous for (we are both awkward and camera shy, and I don’t know how to stop running my mouth during photos because of it) she made us laugh SO many times and immediately melted our anxieties away. We knew we made the perfect choice in a person to take care of us on our wedding day in that moment. We have so far received our previews, and we are simply in love. Marilyn captured intimate moments, fun moments, and beautiful, emotional moments that helped us feel like we were reliving our day all over again. She guided us through the day, took us to the best spots, got the photos we asked for, all without either of us having to think about a single thing or logistic at any point. She was on it. She is and was such a treat and added the kindest most comforting attitude and energy to our day, and all of our family and bridal party agree along with us (we got quite a few “where and how did you find her??”s). We also added a second shooter via Marilyn (who was also sincerely lovely) for just one hour, during our pre-ceremony and ceremony, for a little extra coverage and timeline speed, and a roll of film which was so much fun too. If you love artistic and stylized photos, and are seeking someone with both a great eye and wonderful, calming presence, I mean it, look no further. We are so happy we found Marilyn.

We truly could not have asked for a better wedding and engagement photographer!! We feel so incredibly lucky to have had Seth and his team capture our special day. From the moment Seth arrived at our venue his main priority was making sure we were in good spirits and having fun while capturing every moment, big and small. We cannot say enough great things about Nicholas Yee and his incredible team! Literally from the very beginning, he demonstrated unparalleled professionalism - answering all of our emails super quickly, and taking the time to ensure every detail was covered. He worked with us to create a personalized timeline that made our day run SEAMLESSLY. Most of our vendors worked off his timeline. This allowed us to focus on the joy of the moment without worrying about logistics. He’s also just a great person overall - we felt like we were talking to an old friend. :) What truly sets Nicholas Yee apart is his eye for capturing not only the big, emotional moments but also the quiet, loving exchanges and the spontaneous moments of levity that made our wedding day uniquely ours. We were blown away by the pictures and the moments he captured. We can only really describe the pictures as breathtakingly “cinematic.” 10/10!!! On top of his artistry, his organizational skills were impeccable. He efficiently coordinated all of the family and wedding party photos with incredible time management, ensuring everything was done quickly and beautifully. He budgeted extra time in the timeline for delays which was most appreciated! This allowed us to maximize time with our guests and enjoy the celebration while still getting every shot we had hoped for—and then some! If you are looking for a photographer who is professional, organized, funny, and, above all, an artist who can tell the story of your day with authenticity and heart, then book Nicholas Yee and his team. Brittany did an amazing job with our wedding flowers! During our first phonecall, I told her I was aiming for a fairy garden vibe, and I described the color palette. And as soon as she sent me her proposal a few days later, I knew she was the right fit for us! She really understood exactly what I was envisioning, and she came up with a few different options. Communication was also easy. Brittany is responsive and I felt confident that we had all our bases covered and every detail was well planned. On our wedding day, the flowers were simply stunning! Brittany delivered and set everything up, and everything was just like in the proposal we had discussed. She was even able to repurpose the floral arch after the ceremony, and move it to the reception hall. I had spoken to a few other florists, and none of them were prepared to do that, so the fact that Brittany made it possible was a huge deal to me! The entire experience was just perfect. If your wedding flowers are a priority for you, she will make the magic happen!

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

The Faux Bouquets were great at communicating throughout the entire process! They provided amazing, lifelike floral arrangements that were beautiful in our wedding photos. This was such an easy and convenient service - we simply received the pre-made package, used them for our special day, then packaged them back up to send off. Jen was AMAZING to work with! When it came to flowers for my wedding, I had NO IDEA what I wanted. She was very patient with me and helped talk me through my vision. She gave me flowers to pick from, talked about how big I wanted my bouquet and how much greenery I wanted, and then when I could find colors I liked in swatches, she color-matched the colors I wanted from an inspo pic I found online! She was very professional and patient with me, even when my plans changed or I needed to add to my order.  I am not the best at putting together a bouquet. I am also someone who likes control, especially when it came to planning my wedding. I was thankful that I was able to give Jen the reins, tell her what I wanted, and watch her make my dreams come true. When I first saw my flowers, I was speechless. She truly did make my floral dreams come true, and now I get to keep my bouquet for the rest of my life! A wooden flower bouquet from Jen is the way to go!

Hey, I'm Mary! It's nice to meet you. Summing up who I am in an "about me" is always difficult. What you must know: (1) I'm a nerd. If you want to talk video games, LOTR or Doctor Who, we HAVE to sit down for a bourbon or a coffee. (2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can.

Having Mary as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From our first phone call to engagement photos to the day of she was so helpful, warm, and organized; she made getting the photos we wanted and being where we needed to be at the right time feel so easy and fun. And the photos speak for themselves; we absolutely love them!!

Thalia Photography

Thalia is a NYC & destination wedding photographer based in Queens, NY. Being the lead photographer and owner of her business, she has 10 years of experience capturing engaged couples. She has developed a keen eye for detail, leaving couples with intentional photographs that capture the authenticity of their wedding day. A New York native, she grew up on Long Island for many years where she received her BFA in Visual Arts from SUNY Old Westbury and now - if she's not traveling - you can find her enjoying a new coffee shop or re-watching The Office!

Awarded Best of Zola
I met Thalia in a professional setting and after meeting her, we connected on social media and for YEARS I knew I wanted to work with her in some capacity (ideally my wedding :)). Fast forward to getting engaged this year, I had the opportunity to hire her to photograph our city hall wedding. The photographs were everything I imagined and more but what was even better was experiencing what being in front of her camera felt like. She truly has a gift for making you feel comfortable, forget that she’s there, while still providing guidance when needed. Thalia is quick on her feet and knew how to maximize our time with her when plans on our timeline had to shift a little. She asked important questions prior to our ceremony and offered great suggestions when we needed them. She also offered solutions when I got a little carried away with my vision and started dreaming up a photo shoot that would just push our time limits (which I appreciated). If you love her work and her images, I promise you won’t regret your decision of hiring her!

Last month I got married at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island, and I had the pleasure of working with Jackie Fanara, an artist from Melissa’s makeup team. She was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish- it felt like hanging out with an old friend! She is so incredible at making her clients feel comfortable, listened to, and pampered. She went completely above and beyond- when the bridal party was finishing photos outside and it started pouring, she got SOAKED while shielding my bridesmaids and making sure everyone was able to get safely from the park to the vehicles to inside the venue. She literally used herself as a shield and then proceeded to to help everyone get touch ups while they dried off- by the time the ceremony had started, no one would have had an idea that everyone had been rained on. By the end of the day, she was everyone’s best friend. She was an angel that day and I am so thankful she was my artist. If you’re looking for an incredibly talented artist who will charm you with her positive attitude and incredible sense of humor- Jackie is your gal. Special shout out to Tressa, who did the makeup for my mother in law and few other people’s on my husband’s side of the family- they all loved her and said that she made them feel so special! And of course, shout out to Melissa for being lovely and communicative while setting me up with her team!
