In 1939 the Works Progress Administration built a timbered A-frame gymnasium of local stone and timbers - the beautiful structure that would later become the Longbranch Clubhouse. When the school district consolidated to a larger site, the Longbranch Improvement Club purchased the land and buildings. In 1956 rest rooms, upgraded kitchen facilities and a wooden floor were added. The Longbranch Clubhouse has held an astonishing variety of activities in its colorful history. Our King County Designated Historic Landmark farm sits on 18.1 acres on the north side slope of the Happy Valley 2 miles east of Redmond on SR 202. Established in 1907 by Walter Cooper, the uncle of the famous actor Gary Cooper, the dairy farm operated for 60 years before switching to beef cattle in the late 60s. The farmstead encompasses a gambrel-roofed hay barn built in 1925, followed by a grain silo and milk barn built in 1953.
