Denise’s harp journey began at age 11, studying privately for several years with Peoria Symphony Principal Harpist, Marjorie Winters, and continuing with Chicago Symphony Principal Harpist (retired), Edward Druzinsky. After earning a Masters Degree in Harp Performance from Northwestern University, she began working as a free-lance musician in the Northwest Ohio area. Denise performs on both lever and pedal harp and is a highly sought after clinician with a thriving private teaching studio.

By the time she was three years old, Olivia Claggett was asking for a harp teacher. At six years old, she began taking piano lessons with Jean Wonders, and at eight she began Suzuki harp lessons with professional harpist, instructor, and adjudicator Candyce Dunham. She never looked back after her first lesson in October 2007. During her many years as a student, Olivia continued to push herself musically by competing in numerous competitions winning the annual Buckeye Christian School Organization’s spring competition for five consecutive years.

I have been putting my decade plus of expertise into each and every one of you, from your morning mimosa to the last dance of the night. You are probably assuming my about me section will have a story about how I always wanted to be a photographer, I came out of the womb holding a camera, but that couldn’t be me. I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!
