South facing windows provide excellent natural lighting while an 18-foot ceiling enhances the versatile ambiance of the gallery. A 48 foot moveable wall can open to expand the event space into our 3,200 square foot Art Gallery. Floor to ceiling “garage-style” glass door opens onto an adjoining courtyard. This Victorian treasure was built in the late 1880s, and originally served as the county courthouse. It’s been lovingly restored, and boasts a two-story theater space with an exquisitely embellished ceiling and wraparound mezzanine balcony. In the warmer months, ceremonies may be held in Centanni Courtyard. This airy outdoor space continues the historic feel of the Arts Center with lawns, a large arbor, and brick pathways. Your rental fee helps support the Center’s mission: to educate the community about diversity through the presentation of multicultural arts programs, and to make the center available to artists and groups who may not otherwise have access to a professionally equipped space.

While we do not have a full kitchen, we offer a prep space to prepare, store and serve food. Our space is ideal for catered bites and cocktail foods. We are also a unique and special option for wedding parties to prep for the big day. We are steps away from the heart of downtown Newport and located close to many bars, restaurants and hotels.

Boston Opera House first opened in 1928 as the B.F Keith Memorial Theater. The lavish movie theater was designed in a combination of French and Italian styles by Thomas White Lamb, one of the foremost theater architects of his day. After a series of ownership changes, Boston Opera House was restored and renovated in late 2004 in order to accommodate the needs of large Broadway touring productions.
