“Olivia played the harp at our wedding 9/1/2024 and did a wonderful job. It was the perfect added piece to our ceremony. She played before (while our guests and bridal party were getting seated/lining up), during (when my dad and I walked down), and after (when our guests exited) the ceremony and the music was just beautiful and peaceful. I met with her a few weeks prior to pick out the music we wanted and she had a lot of different songs/varieties to choose from. “Follow the Sun is seriously the best band ever! Not only do they sound amazing, they were so easy to communicate and plan with and are just genuinely good people. Prior to booking, we came out to watch a live performance and even though they were crazy busy, they each made a point to come say hi and get to know us a little bit. Sophie (our contact person for emails while planning) was personable, responsive, and beyond accommodating. They offer complimentary song requests during the planning process and personalized their performances to include us and our people They also played our ceremony live, and it was better than I could have ever imagined it would be! All we wanted for our wedding day was to celebrate and have fun with our friends and family, and Follow the Sun was the exact vibe we were looking for! I don’t think we left the dance floor once all night, other than to take sunset photos. Richie got our daughter involved by giving her a pick and letting her play his guitar mid performance, a highlight she hasn’t stopped talking about and will never forget!! He helped us curate an amazing reception flow and welcomed our ideas with open arms. Walking into our cocktail hour to his live acoustic set is something I’ll never forget. Our guests were amazed! From our dinner playlist, he shuffled the perfect variety of our favorite songs it had me in tears the entire time. How he handled our announcements and all MC-ing throughout the evening was like nothing I’d seen photographing weddings over the past 5 years — a complete contrast to the flashy, showy MC taglines that feel like you’re being announced into a boxing arena, lol. That wasn’t for us and that also isn’t Mike’s style. We felt like the guests of honor and like each of our planned dances were equally as important to him that they went smoothly and were a special moment for our families. For example, my dad was nervous for his welcome toast and asked for a microphone on a stand instead of handheld. I watched Mike’s assistant literally *run* out to their car and back to accommodate in record time. The dance floor was packed and the songs Mike chose from our playlist were a perfect balance of the genres we love. Mike checked in with us about song/vibe suggestions and was the best advocate for what *we* wanted all day long. (This is the impact of getting to know your clients well!) At the end of the night, Mike organized our remaining guests into an exit tunnel following our private last dance and it was the best way to end the night. While we didn’t want the party to end, we will ALWAYS recommend Mike wherever we can so we can enjoy his talents again. After the wedding Mike sent us a collection of videos and photos he took throughout the day and we will always cherish them. He also wrote us the most thoughtful card and a gift that again, brought me to tears. Last thing - a little thing that might go overlooked - his equipment, lighting and set up, are SO good. Very tasteful set up and the light effects took the party to the next level. Ok! I could go on and on! But I’ll leave with this THANK YOU, Mike and your team for every little thing. We are so grateful.”
