Nu Standard was founded by accomplished multi-instrumentalist Derrick Hicks. Passionate about providing top-class wedding entertainment, this Texas-native has been playing instruments since his childhood. Consisting of vocalists, horns, and a rhythm section, the band features some of the city’s most seasoned musicians. Growing up I’ve always loved singing for small and large audiences. I’ve sang a broad range of song but now I choose to stick with inspiration & lifting songs that bring hope and bring a smile to my hearers faces. I put my all in to my performance and do everything I can to help make a couple’s happy moment one of the greatest memories they’ll ever have. I have been singing at wedding ceremonies and receptions on and off for the past 7 years. One of the most exciting weddings I’ve sang at was for a friend’s reception in Sweden! I am more than happy to help bring your wedding dreams into reality with a song to top it off!

Welcome. Nesta is lead by a husband and wife team - Abby and Dan - who are seasoned, professional musicians; their specialties are steel drums and Caribbean music. They have performed for hundreds of wedding ceremonies, cocktails, and receptions, and enjoy being a part of the “good stuff” of people’s lives. :-)

I started DJ’ing as a kid with two boom boxes, cassette mixtapes, and a deep love for music. I got into Turntablism and DJ’ing as an art form after completing a term in the Air Force. That's when I expanded my love for music and worked my way through college DJ’ing and doing voiceover. At Cal State I earned a B.A. in Film & Audio Production, and I then went on to become a certified Audio Engineer. When it comes to DJing for private events/venues like club rentals, weddings, corporate parties etc, I love my clients, and thrive on making meaningful connections.

As a former Model of the Year, a two-time winner of the Mademoiselle Mannequin Elite Club Award, and a trained operatic soprano, it is my pleasure to present Catwalk Opera. Catwalk Opera looks forward to personalizing your fashion show, charity event, or corporate function!

Kenya is a classically-trained Afro-American Brazilian vocalist supported by a band of award-winning Brazilian and Latin Jazz musicians. Together, this group performs music from renowned artists such as Antônio Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz, Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto and many more. You can have Kenya Moses' Bossa e Bossa arranged as a quartet, trio, or duo, depending on your preferences.

When my friends started to get married, the requests to DJ their weddings began pouring in. It made sense, they wanted to party, and I had helped them do it weekend after weekend all over NYC. It only took one wedding for me to realize that they needed a lot more help than what I did in the clubs. These days, I and my team help plan & entertain at all types of events (not just weddings), clients become friends (they don’t start there) and they benefit from our staff’s collective experience and the 10 years in the event industry Stem Productions has been active.

Chris Fossek, Guitarist and Composer, has performed as a soloist and in ensembles in such venues as the Olympic Stadium of Rome, the RedCat Theater at Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, The Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, and the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara. He is also a Top-Ten Billboard charting recording artist and composer. Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance from the California Institute of the Arts, where he was greatly inspired by his mentor, world-renowned guitarist, improvisor, and composer, Miroslav Tadić.

Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.
