Hi! I'm Alëna! I’ve been making videos for over 10 years now. I believe in sucking the joy out of life and documenting it. It’s by immersing myself in travel that my eyes were first opened to videography. Being an adoptee from another country I fell in love with the process of collecting memories. I feel that my exposure to changing environments has allowed me to appreciate things from various perspectives and remain calm and assertive in fast pace situations. Such as weddings! I love capturing different traditions & religions AND of course documenting people in love or breaking the dance floor are my literal favs! Let's freakin' go yeah!?

Awarded Best of Zola
WOW, i booked Alena and as soon as we spoke i KNEW she was going to do my wedding! everything about her videos were truly breathtaking! she got every little detail in and it was just my teaser video!! she is such a great person, and she makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. I don't know what i would have done without her. she Captured everything in such a different way. Alena truly out did herself and i am SO grateful that i have this beautiful wedding video to look back on my day and relive every moment!!!

We did a lot of research looking into different vendors to use for our various wedding needs. After locking down our photographer, I realized I wanted something a little less "typical" and something more "creative" for my video memories. I think that Andrew and his team hit a very happy middle-ground of artistic quality over corporate event-video, and the very expensive arthouse productions I got quotes from. Firstly, they arrived on early, which is on time, and wasted no time getting started. There was no downtime, and every minute they were on site was working to get us the best footage, shots, and coverage of our wedding. Beyond that, they got creative shots, angles, and used a different cameras from different perspectives. They were able to figure out how to get clean audio of the important speeches and readings. And to put it all together, they created an amazing 6 minute video of our event that we've been able to share with everyone. The editing is anything but standard faire, and shows an artistic care to our specific event, the words said, and how they juxtapose over the events details. Oh and while I thought the Drone shots were not necessary, I'm so happy they got them- they looked AWESOME. Some more technical things we loved about Instillwonder is that when I asked what equipment they used to shoot on, they actually answered me. The fact that they were shooting with mirrorless cameras, not typical DSLRs, and used gimbals for motion/stability put me at ease knowing that the footage wouldn't be static and would feel more alive. They also were the only company that would give me a discount (not charge extra) to be given my raw footage. This helped our budget greatly, and now (as a former video editor) I'm able to play with all the footage and have it saved forever. Overall, they were communicative, friendly, and attentive to my events needs. I can't recommend their work more, and am excited to see them give other couples the same wonderful experience we received.

Hello! My name is Fen, nice to meet you online! I’m a freelance cinematographer and editor. I split my time between shooting weddings and indie films. I enjoy doing both because I love the thrill of operating a camera and I love people and stories! I have shot over 300 weddings and I edit everything myself. In my spare time I love swimming, hiking, skiing, traveling with my family, writing and learning all kinds of stuff. I’m very curious about the world!

Awarded Best of Zola
Fen was wonderful to work with for out wedding on October 8th, 2023! From the very first virtual meeting all the way through the big day itself, she was so friendly and professional! On the day of our wedding she coordinated with our photographer to get video capturing the entire day from start to finish, sometimes from the same angles as our photographer and at other times different angles or multiple angles all at once! We opted to receive both the full-length format video as well as the short highlight summary, and they are both fantastic! From the drone shots of the venue in the introduction, to the wonderful B-roll video clips in the transitions, and overlaid music at times where it made sense, the videos we received are just so wonderfully put together and capture the events of the day perfectly! The highlight video struck a great balance of events throughout the day and was great to be able to post to our socials. We asked for a small change to the highlight video, and Fen was more than accommodating and had an updated version sent back out to us very quickly. And when we received and watched the full 3 hour edit, we felt transported right back to that day and like were able to completely re-live it. We are so happy with our choice to work with Fen, and overjoyed to have this special record of our big day for the rest of our lives. Overall we cannot say enough good things about Fen and her work, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a videographer!

Margo Sees Stars

5.0

  • Documentary style
  • Starts at $4,900
  • Serves Sagaponack, NY

Hi! I’m Julia, middle name Margo, a film school dropout and music buff who wants to make your wedding look like art. I'm here to represent diversity in the couples I work with and weddings I shoot (love is love), to give you something hyper-shareable that will instantly transport you in space and time for the rest of your lives, and to make you cry upon watching. The crying is very important. Bear with me on this analogy, but basically I like my wedding films like I like my salads: raw, organic, a little bit of quirk and flare, and consumed alongside great music. If this sound pretty good to you, have a look at my work and get in touch!

Awarded Best of Zola
If you want your wedding day to be captured like an art piece, like an actual movie or magical music video, hire Julia. I cannot recommend Margo Sees Stars enough! I knew I wanted a video of our big day because A) my memory (for the little details) sucks and B) I knew seeing the movement and all the sweet in-between moments in live footage would be so much more meaningful to me than just still photography. But I also am not drawn to super traditional sappy wedding video treatments. Julia took it to another level. I don't remember how I found her but she was the first vendor I booked and it was an A move and worth absolutely every penny. I fell in love with her Wes Anderson style, her eye for minimalism and fun candid moments, her editing and music choices. I felt such joy watching her videos of other peoples weddings, I couldn't imagine how good I would feel watching my own in her beautifully unique film style. Cut to my wedding day, not that this is totally mandatory but she was a complete fly on the wall. Obviously I was a bit preoccupied but I barely remember seeing her there, to the point that later on I was worried she may not have captured enough of the day because WHERE WAS SHE?! But she caught EVERY moment. Moments I was too anxious to pay attention to, or wasn't present for, or was having too much fun to remember. But I'm SO happy to be able to see them in the final video. It was 100x more than I dreamed of. Myself, my husband, our families, we all wept watching it. The music was so perfectly edited to the shots. Honestly I was anxious to pick a song without seeing the footage so I just gave her a few songs and bands I liked and the general vibe I wanted, and she completely NAILED it. She was also hugely accommodating to my editing process (I'm also a creative so I was a bit nit picky), and super communicative along the way when needed. But there was barely any need for it. You just let her do her thing and she makes absolute artistic magic. Not to mention she sends you the raw footage in an adorable package filled with Hershey's kisses and a camera-shaped USB key. I loved my wedding day but the moments are so fleeting, it goes by so quickly and then its gone forever, and it's lovely to have photographs of the day, but I'm telling you, having such a uniquely beautiful video art piece to watch when you want to smile really hits different. GO HIRE MARGO SEES STARS!

We absolutely loved working with Stephen and Rosie! The video they made of our wedding day was better than we could have imagined and their eye for detail and composition is unsurpassed. From the first time we talked with them on the phone we felt absolutely at ease and knew they were the right decision. This is a team that loves love and is so gifted at capturing all the little details that make a wedding video so special. I really appreciated that the voices of us and our loved ones were recorded and used through the video. They asked what was important to us and made sure those people and moments were captured in our video. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors, were always so kind, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. My husband is camera shy and was nervous that he would feel like he was being recorded all day. After the wedding, he said he didn't even notice they were there, which is wonderful since they captured him laughing and smiling all day. I would absolutely recommend them for your special day!

I can't wait to talk with you about how we can make magic together. P.S. We are a firm believer in equality and inclusion. Love is love!

Thank you times a million to Mike and his team for doing an outstanding job for my wedding. Mike was there from start to finish! Our day started at 12 PM followed by a full Catholic Mass and a NYE Count Down. Mike caught every special moment. The quality of my videos are outstanding. He even put a microphone on me, my husband, and the priest. I was BLOWN AWAY by my highlight video. As a type A person, I noticed ALL the little details he included in my videos. His communication is great and he has amazing response times. BUT THE REASON I WISH I COULD GIVE HIM 10 STARS? HE HAD OUR VIDEOS BACK TO US IN LESS THAN THREE WEEKS!!! (I know brides who had waited 6-7 MONTHS) I cannot recommend Mike and Lifi Media Production enough.

Motel Cinema

5.0

  • Documentary style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Sagaponack, NY for additional fees

Fueled by nostalgic recalling we aim to create a film that is timeless and authentic. Motel Cinema is based out of San Diego, Ca and our approach to weddings is inspired by the untraditional travelers before us, who hit the road in search of adventure into the unknown. We don't like boxes and we don't want wedding films that fit into one. If that tickles your fancy let's get weird.

Awarded Best of Zola
One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was to hire Motel Cinema! As an entertainment marketer, specifically for documentaries, how our wedding would be documented was top of mind for me and I met with quite a few videographers. Brandon completely exceeded my expectations with the moments he caught on film, the editing, the music, the vibe. I really felt like he saw us and reflected it all back to us in the most special way which we will cherish for the rest of our lives. He was an absolute joy to work with through the entire process- easy to communicate with and quick, but also a relaxed energy that fit seamlessly into our wedding weekend. I cannot recommend Motel Cinema enough and I’m so so grateful that we were connected.

Mawaddah Productions a women-owned videography company who has been dedicated to artistic and authentic storytelling worldwide for years. Specializing in wedding cinematography, Mawaddah Productions delicately crafts documentary heirloom films for romantics.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are not joking when we say that we hired Saja from Mawaddah productions at 8:30 am on our wedding day after realizing that we almost made one of the biggest mistakes by not having a videographer. And this was definitely the BEST decision we made. We were amazed that Saja not only managed to travel two hours from Boston to Alstead New Hampshire with a last minute notice for the job, but also exceeded our expectations by capturing all these priceless and unforgettable moments with little to no preparation other than a timeline flyer a few hours beforehand. The cinematography is insane: she films so beautifully and candidly, and her attention to details is unparalleled. Through her art and vision, she was able to translate this day which needless to say, went by overwhelmingly fast, into such a beautiful beautiful endless everlasting memory that we can now forever replay. We ABSOLUTELY ADOREDDDD the teaser, the short wedding film and the feature film. We shared it with our entire families and friends and they are completely in love. The short wedding film is on constant repeat. We could not thank her and recommend her enough for her incredible work and talent.
