The Poe Museum's Enchanted Garden makes for a small event venue that is absolutely poetic! Edgar Allan Poe considered gardens to be one of the highest art forms. Inspired by his poem "To One in Paradise," the Museum's Enchanted Garden was created in 1922 to pay tribute to this passion. The Gardens at the Poe Museum are the convergence of many aspects of the history and culture of Richmond. The Wharf Dockmaster Building is located at the end of District Pier and your rental includes the space on the pier around it. You have wrap around balconies and 270 degree views of the river and boats, plus the Washington Monument. Your rental gives you the building for the day so you can do any advance decorating, load in etc. It is unfurnished space – typically your caterer will coordinate tables, chairs etc. and help you design the look you want. Our inside capacity is typically 100 seated dinner style or 140-150 standing cocktail style.
