Blue Dahlia Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,750

My name is Rabeeh and I'm new to ZOLA (you can see over 250 reviews on my Knot profile). When I first started taking pictures, I can honestly say that I didn't plan on becoming a wedding photographer. Most other photographers I socialized with would tell me how stressful and demanding wedding photography could be. Over a decade and numerous weddings later, I must strongly disagree! I want you to relax, breathe deeply, and experience every moment of your wedding with as little worry or concern as possible. A little about myself, I am an easy going guy who enjoys numerous hobbies ranging from collecting antique cameras to the art of bonsai.

Blue Dahlia was recommended to us by a friend. We are so thankful! Rabeeh was so easy to work with and he captured every moment we wanted. He was timely and professional and the end product exceeded our expectations! I will highly recommend him to everyone. I would not hesitate to use him for photography needs in the future.

Hi, I'm Kristen and I'm so excited you are here! I've been a wedding photographer for 17 years with hundreds of weddings under my belt. Diversity and inclusivity are very important to me both personally and professionally, so no matter who you are I want to document your love story.

Awarded Best of Zola
I could not more highly recommend Kristen! Kristen was one of the very first vendors that I booked for my August 2024 wedding and I could not be more happy in that decision. Kristen's style is timeless and true to color. She focuses on capturing the day as it happens rather than focusing only on super posed shots- which I love! Kristen's communication is clear, prompt, and honest- I so appreciated her insight through the wedding planning process and especially in developing the timeline. We also received far more sneak peeks than we expected and I'm still shocked with how quickly we received our full gallery! Kristen, we are so happy you were there to capture our day!

Justin McCallum Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,200
  • Serves Port Salerno, FL for additional fees

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
I don't even know where to begin. TL/DR: Hire Justin. If you are looking for a person who is as responsible as he is fun, whose pictures are an absurdly brilliant mix of editorial, candid, and artistic; who manages to capture the most joyful moments in the most moving ways, look no further. Photography was important to me; as a bride who had many friends go down the aisle before me, I tried to heed their advice: the photographer is perhaps the most important investment you can make. When I saw Justin's pictures, one word came to mind: "joy."  There was a vibrancy and humanity to his work that made me tear up just looking at his website.  This, combined with the very obvious technical skill he possessed, made me thrilled that he was still available on our wedding date.  Our initial phone call set the tone for the whole process: fun and incredibly thorough and organized.  Indeed, throughout the whole process, Justin was our go to for any questions we had; as the photographer, it made sense for him to keep an eye on logistics, but we were unprepared for how above and beyond Justin would go to make sure our day ran smoothly, from the planning process to execution. Don't let his insanely fun personality fool you: at our wedding he was heads and tails the most professional person there, ready with his shot list, keeping things moving; and yet somehow managed to keep the mood light, fun, and a little bit raunchy. Indeed, a good word for Justin is "prepared."  We had a survey to fill out before our big day, to let him know just what elements were most important to us. When I saw the photos, I couldn't believe how closely he had followed this. The sheer artistry on display, and the range of shots, it didn't seem like just one person could be responsible. The variety and quality was incredible.  And that was a direct result of our having asked for that; that is the wonderful thing about Justin, he cares deeply about his clients and pays attention to them; despite his talent there is no ego involved. He also seems to care deeply about his clients' family...and their friends...and all the wedding guests; everyone commented on how friendly and professional and fun he was. I could go on, likely, forever, but a final note: for my husband and I, the most important thing was capturing the people who came that day to celebrate with us; that was what we wanted to remember most.  We told this to Justin, and when I got the pictures back, I was blown away-- his ability to capture the essence of our family and friends, the way he captured distinct mannerisms, gestures...it was uncanny. That requires training, and artistry; but also kindness, empathy and depth.  Justin has all of those in spades.  It was important for my husband and I to hire someone we wanted to spend the day with; we didn't want him to leave! In post-production, Justin has been just as generous with his time and wrapping up any loose ends.  He stays in touch and makes sure you are thrilled with the final product. It was a pleasure to get to know him and we hope we are cool enough for him to be a part of our lives forever!

Hola! Hi! Hello! Привет! Вітаю! My name is Karyna - the girl behind all the photos you can see. I'm originally from Ukraine. I live in Massachusetts more than 7 years now and I love it here! I've been in photography more than... hm... (honestly can't tell you the exact number of years because I remember myself with the camera since I was a kid. I freaking love my career. Photography is my addiction. I pride myself on being communicative and open with my couples. Your wedding is not just another wedding to me. It's special and my passion to capture your unique love. Basically that's all you need to know about your photographer

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired GRAND Photo to take pictures of our intimate wedding ceremony and restaurant reception in Boston, and our experience with Karyna was absolutely perfect! Our wedding photography included a photo walk from the Boston City Hall to the restaurant and Karyna could not have planned a better, more picturesque route, so all of our photos had amazing backgrounds! Karyna was efficient and punctual, flexible with our requests while at the same time quick to offer gentle guidance on posing and styling. Overall, Karyna has such a keen eye on details, balance, and creative composition when it comes to photography, and is an absolute delight to work with. Could not recommend enough!!

Absolutely thrilled to share my experience with Maggie from Stepping Stones Photography! From start to finish, she was an absolute gem, exceeding every expectation I had for our wedding photos. Her intuition and professionalism were truly unmatched; she seemed to anticipate every meaningful moment before it even happened! What blew me away the most were the photos themselves. They were not just pictures; they were windows into the emotions and memories of our special day. Each shot captured the essence of the moment perfectly, and looking through them brought tears to my eyes all over again. Maggie was incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout the entire process. She listened attentively to my ideas and preferences, and seamlessly incorporated them into her artistic vision. If you're looking for a wedding photographer who goes above and beyond, who understands the significance of every smile, every tear, and every laugh, you really have to book Maggie. Hi, I’m Amberly Brooks, a wedding photographer who thrives on capturing authentic moments and candid expressions. I love bringing positive and fun energy to every wedding I shoot, ensuring that you and your guests feel comfortable and at ease. My goal is to document the genuine emotions and spontaneous interactions that make your wedding day truly special. Let's make some beautiful memories!

Amberly did our engagement photos initially, and after meeting her and falling in love with her work, we knew we had to have her do our wedding as well. She traveled out of state to come shoot our wedding, and we’re so grateful to her for making the trip. She was able to make the two of us, who are pretty uncomfortable in front of a camera, so at ease with her personality and friendliness. She fit right in with our families and wedding party, making sure everyone was having a good time and capturing all the special moments. We will forever be thankful for her and the gift of the pictures we have from that day, and we can’t wait for her to capture all of life’s moments ahead for us!

You are probably assuming my about me section will have a story about how I always wanted to be a photographer, I came out of the womb holding a camera, but that couldn’t be me. I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!

Awarded Best of Zola
Abby wasn’t able to travel to my wedding but she sent her assistants and she edited the photos. It went absolutely perfect. The photos were beautiful and I got so many meaningful photos with my family and his family that I wouldn’t have thought to get. I sent her draft of a timeline and the photographers printed it out and had it to make sure the photos I wanted got done. They were absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to Abby and her team.

I'm Emily - a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer set on capturing intimate, joyful, authentic, & emotional photos. I want you to look back on your wedding photos not just love the way they look, but I want you to remember what the moment felt like. My hope is for you to feel the way your loved one hugged you as they gave you away, to laugh as you look back at the best man giving his speech...every captured moment has a feeling. I will do my best to stop those moments in time for you to experience forever. I am witty, goofy, sarcastic, open-minded, & honest. I will be your ultimate third wheel.

Awarded Best of Zola
If I could go up to everyone to suggest Emily til my lungs gave out, I would. We used her for our engagement photos and wedding photos, and I want to use her for all my life events. Her photos are obviously what drew me in at first, but once I met her, it was her personality. She is so bright, she makes you feel like you're her new best friend. She is fun, energetic, and efficient (which we love, since my husband hates photos). Emily not only acted as my photographer the day of my wedding, but was also my hype woman, and support person. She made me feel calm in the chaos. She made me feel beautiful. I think when you are a beautiful person inside and out like her, it's an easy thing to do. You know you have a gem when everyone is coming up to you to tell you how "your photographer is so awesome". She captured some of the most beautiful, vulnerable, moments during that day and turned them into a story and I love that she could be apart of such a special day.

Fueled by equal parts sweet tea and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can't wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.

Melinda is AMAZING. I love the way she photographs, edits, posing directions. She made me feel so confident the whole time. She’s so professional and responsive. If I had to do everything all over again, I’d still choose her. She’s fantastic to work with. The photos themselves come in fast, look so beautiful, and her style of photography doesn’t make you look stiff.

Hey there! Since you are trusting me to capture these special moments in your life, I figured you should probably know a bit about me, right? I am a Huntsville, Alabama native, but moved to Nashville after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2013. ROLL TIDE! Although I consider Nashville home, I am anything but a homebody. I love traveling and exploring new places (especially the food at those places!). I even studied abroad in Italy, which let me tell you, was a food lover's dream. I have always felt like an old soul trapped in a millennial’s body. I would rather listen to Frank Sinatra than anything on the radio today.

Awarded Best of Zola
Diana was a joy to work with at my besties wedding! She kept the large group together, fixed our hair/ poses as needed, and took the most STUNNING photos. Not only was her work amazing, but her personality and energy made everyone so comfortable. I highly recommend Diana if you’re considering a wedding photographer. She is AMAZING!

Wedding Photography is so Satisfying! I refer to my style of shooting as “the sniper”. People often tell me when they see a photo pop up on the screen right after I take it… “I never even saw you take that!” That’s the whole idea behind capturing truly genuine and candid moments that can’t be recreated… It’s about being sneaky, having experience and hustling your A$$ off to be in the right place at the right time… and I have so much fun doing it! I’m a proud father of 5 sons and a daughter (she’s the youngest)! I’ve shot over 550 weddings in 14+ years.

It was a blast working with Adam! He shot both my engagement session and my entire wedding day. He goes above and beyond to get the perfect shot! I loved his Live Action screen; it shows all of the pictures taken as they are taken, it was a huge hit with us and all of our guests! He and his crew were amazing on my wedding day, they were very timely. Adam is very understanding and flexible; he will work with you and make your experience with him and your special day perfect! I would definitely recommend Adam for any of your photography needs!!
