“Mike brought expert level attention to detail, along with a great feel for the vibe of our reception. First, he was very informative in our initial discussions, providing direct answers to each of our questions, and giving us an easy to fill in Google Doc for our input. He met with us and our event coordinator to discuss timeline and go over our preferences for certain parts of the ceremony. On the day of he was set up and ready to go for our cocktail hour, and by the time we entered for our first dance he had our (normally very shy) friends and family bumping with energy. During the first dance he kept an eye out for me to signal to wrap up our song a little early (nobody wants to hear a long instrumental outro...). He then proceeded to do a great job of MC'ing our dinner and toasts. Then our party was a complete blast. He expertly weaved in our recommendations with his own song picks. This was no small feat since our wedding featured a combination of American and South Indian cultures, meaning that he had to blend in a number of songs that were most likely new to him. Overall it went really well, with both of our dads having an amazing time, and our friends grouping up for some of the bigger tracks. He closed the night with a special intro to our closer song (Daft Punk's One more time) and everyone was asking for more (unfortunately venues have strict closing times). So, we would highly recommend for the professionalism, organization and ability to keep track of the party's mood as the night went on.”

“The Lake string Quartet was so easy to work with they were so seamless coordinating with me, the officiant, and my coordinator. I told them everything that I wanted, and they gave me so much more. My one recommendation to anyone is have your handful of songs that you really want played by the string Quartet, but then trust the experts to also pick out songs that they would recommend. What I did was I provided them a list of songs that I really wanted to hear and then let the experts do what they do best and pick out whatever song they thought would match the vibes from the guests.”

“My finance’ had seen Class act at another family wedding, but it was before my time. He talked very highly about how much fun they were, but I still needed to be convinced. So we talked to them and then interviewed them and then it was very easy to decide that they were the right people for us. One of the things they let us know right off the bat was that they were working for us and even though other family members might have some ideas they would give us the final say in all matters relative to our big day. So we started out with their wedding officiant and DJ for an outdoor wedding. We wanted short, sweet and simple while having some amount of levity and romance and they delivered. The ceremony we just right. We then progressed to our social hour and dinner. Class Act moved the sound system they used for the ceremony in the outdoor dining area while keeping the larger system set up inside with the bar and dance area. The announcements came over both systems so that everyone could be part of the experience. At the diner we did some kissing games where the guests needed to entertain us and we judged their performance with the kiss. Everyone was laughing the whole time. They released tables and escorted the guests to the indoor buffet table. I cannot remember all the fun things that went on during dinner, but my guests really embraced the experience. Once the dinner was all done Class Act had the guests make two lines and we walked between them from the outside dinner tables to the dance floor then they all flowed in to watch us. We felt so special and supported. It was also brilliant because it got all the people into the dance area and the dance took off like a flash. So we danced all night it was and amazing time. Too bad I only get to do this once. Maybe we will have to have an Anniversary party. Olivia and Sam”

From the humble beginnings of spinning my K-Tel, KISS, ABBA and Foreigner records for my stuffed animals as a young kid in the 70s - to DJing for thousands at a Minnesota Wild event to playing campfire songs on an acoustic guitar and doing skits for 1 million people on KDWBs DAVE RYAN IN THE MORNING show, along with being a bassist of 40 years for cover bands Hairball, Arch Allies and RockGodz & original acts Rainmaker and 1000 Pleasures. Music has been my life's passion. It's been there when I need a friend or advice in life when I couldn't find the answer. I'm dedicated to making sure to share that passion with others. It's my superpower.
