The event space consists of both indoor and an outdoor areas. The Toll Room is a large open space preserved in its original mid century modern aesthetic with a full wall of sliding glass doors. It opens on to the patio surrounded by mature trees that create a charming canopy decorated with string lights. Hi, my name is Iso, one of the founders of Forage Kitchen. Since 2017, our mission has been to support Oakland entrepreneurs by providing kitchen space, promotional help, and event organization. To support that mission, we rent our space throughout the year for weddings, corporate events, and parties of all kinds. Our space offers a full commercial kitchen, great outdoor space with overhead lighting, and most importantly, a fully stocked bar! With seating capacity for 160 and standing room for 230, it’s great for events of all kinds, and live music is always welcome!

The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was completed in 1927, with over a thousand craftsmen working on the project. The construction cost was approximately $1.5 million. This was a sizeable sum at the time equivalent to about $22 million today. From ground breaking to completion the edifice was erected in just two years. This is the second temple in Oakland built from the ground up by the Scottish Rite Masonic fraternity since 1883, when it was first chartered in Oakland.
