Monroe Bay Vineyard is located on the water near Colonial Beach on the original birthplace Farm of our 5th President James Monroe. We have a large, unique barn made of natural, recycled materials of strawbales for insulation and recycled wine bottles for light and design. You no longer see the strawbales in the wall as they have been covered with a hydraulic lime the same material castles in France for hundreds of years have been made from. The inside is a museum quality white lime finish with unique curves with sun shining through the patterned wine bottle walls to give a unique backdrop.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, our meeting house was constructed in 1930 during the administration of the Quaker president, Herbert Hoover. It was built to serve as a house of worship and a gathering place for those wanting to “seek peace and pursue it.” The building was enlarged in 1950. In 1970, we acquired the red brick Quaker House, Carriage House and garden at 2121 Decatur Place NW. Built in the 1920s and also on the National Register, these buildings today house a number of nonprofit organizations and small businesses as well as additional event spaces. The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department rents out its meeting hall to individuals, local businesses, community groups and organizations. All proceeds from this rental are used to support the department's operations. The Community Hall is available for rent on most Mondays through Saturdays and is an excellent venue for Wedding Receptions, Children’s Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, or Business Conferences. (The hall is not available on Sundays due to our weekly Bingo Fundraiser.)
