Our venue began in 1928. The historic building was home to The Mt. Lookout Theater. People have been entertained in the space for generations. In 2007 we gave the entire interior fresh start choosing to bring the space back to it's original open layout with a nod to it's Art Deco past. Karrikin Spirits Company is a Cincinnati based craft distillery and event space in Fairfax, committed to exploring our love of flavors with the community. By definition, karrikins are the elements found in the smoke from a forest fire that trigger the regeneration of that forest. In the centuries since Whiskey Hollow was settled, those karrikins have been at work to bring distilling back to this very location on Cincinnati’s east side. In Spring of 2017, seven founding members with experience in brewing & distilling, woodworking, design, and more came together to purchase a building formerly occupied by Swallen’s and later, DnD Metal to start a journey of flavor and fire. From there, Karrikin Spirits Company was formed — a full-service, grain to glass distillery producing handcrafted spirits, sparkling spirits, non-alcoholic sodas, and beer.

Our space has a lodge like feel with post and beam construction, 2 large fireplaces, a moose head and lots of dark handsome woodwork. 2 of our rooms have large windows overlooking our pond and fountain. We have 2 bars, and 38 outside tables. Our front patio has a large stone gas fireplace and our back patio overlooks the pond.

Built in the late 1800’s, The Old Barn at Brown County has been restored with new flooring, romantic chandelier lighting and convenient onsite restrooms, all while maintaining its original rustic-charm. In addition to the barn, the Big Easy Log Cabin is also located on the property. The newly renovated 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath cabin is the perfect size for you and your overnight accommodations. The 1880’s hand-hewed log cabin includes a wonderful wrap-around porch, sufficient get ready space, and a game room for you and your guests to enjoy. An additional 4 bedroom cabin up the hill (Over Easy) is available to rent as well.
