Walt's Hitching Post is a popular restaurant and private venue space in Ft. Wright, KY, minutes from downtown Cincinnati and CVG Airport. Walt’s sets the stage for couples to host an unforgettable celebration. The building, was used as a hunting lodge for Western & Southern executives in the early 1900s before being restored in 1942 by Walt Ballanger, who made his mark in the community by serving delicious smokehouse ribs. In 1958, Bill Melton purchased and successfully ran the business for 50 years. Today, Walt’s, under new ownership since 2012, continues to welcome people with a unique equestrian theme by preserving Walt's rich history and traditions. There are many photos of the late Melton's prized thoroughbreds. Walt's also showcases original exposed log walls and a cozy stone fireplace in the main dining room. We are the Boswell family. Wolf Run Acres is concept that came about after hosting our daughters weddings and struggling to find the country setting they wanted. After hosting one on this site under a tent we rented, we decided this is a beautiful setting for a wedding venue. We wanted to give our guests a beautiful dream country wedding, but design it to be more industrial and modern and less rustic than comparable venues.
