I started photography 10+ years ago while still in high school, never thinking I would make it into a business one day, I just simply enjoyed capturing pictures. Now today I get so much joy from capturing the memories people want to remember forever. I love getting to help plan and see a beautiful wedding come together and two come as one.

The historic Monte Vista Hotel is a key component to Black Mountain’s storied past. Originally home to the Cherokee people, this valley became an early pathway west for traders, explorers and people seeking a new life beyond the eastern mountains. The town of Black Mountain grew rapidly after the railroad was completed in the late 19th century, and this new “railroad town” needed more lodging. Lucien and Rosalie Phillips opened the Monte Vista in 1919, repurposing a former school building. In 1937, the current brick building was constructed, further cementing the Monte Vista Hotel as a central piece of Black Mountain’s civic and social life. The Annex, a separate structure located behind the original, was added in 1975. Though the hotel has since undergone complete renovations and new ownership, many of the original elements have been preserved, and the new decorative touches complement the look and feel of the original structure.

Hello! I'm Sabrina and I love to cake! It all started with my Nanny many moons ago... She always baked the most delicious treats from scratch. I would patiently wait to lick the beaters...and the bowl while the cake was in the oven. Although I didn't realize it until I was grown and she was gone, how much that time together taught me. From sifting the flour, to knowing just the right temp for each recipe. I learned the basics and what it takes to make a cake from scratch. My love of art has lead me from just baking a delicious cakes to creating edible master pieces. I pour my heart and soul into all that I create, because I just Love To Cake!

It is believed that the Spanish, upon landing in the Caribbean, used the word “barbacoa” to refer to the technique the natives used slow cooking when preparing proteins over a wooden platform. This culinary technique was well established in the US, primarily in the South, where pig meat was broadly consumed. The Inn, originally named Engadine by its builder, Civil War Captain John Keais Hoyt, is an 1885 Queen Anne-style Victorian home. Engadine is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored and decorated to maintain its Victorian character and charm. It was converted to an inn in 1994 and has operated as one ever since.

Mikasa Nikkei is a new concept and style of food in North Carolina. It brings exciting and unique flavors from the Peruvian-Japanese fusion born in Peru at the beginning of the 20th century. It adds to the diversity of food and culture so loved and welcomed in Asheville, NC, a city of foodies and enthusiasts of new cultures. We want to add Peruvian-Japanese flavors to the extensive culinary culture that already exists in this beautiful city, and work with local farmers, not only to adapt their products to our dishes but also to grow our Peruvian Chilis, potatoes, etc. in the local farms.
