After baking and decorating cakes for over 30 years, in 2014 I was faced with the challenge of making my own wedding cake. I also wanted to include embellishments to enhance the overall grandeur of the cake that were not consumable. The solution, create a beautiful faux cake featuring all of the grandeur I desired far in advance of the actual wedding date. I discovered that my true passion is decorating, not baking. I loved what I was doing, but God gives you a gift for a reason. I wanted to use that gift. I talked to my husband about it and he was very supportive, so I took a leap of faith.

I have always loved baking ever since I was little. I even wanted to travel the world and get a bachelor's in science of pastry. While I was doing that I ended up starting my own company here by Winter Park Florida in September of 2021. I decided to take a leap one week and put everything I had into starting up my own cookie business. Since then I've had a whole neighborhood behind me, my friends have been behind me, my family been behind me. I've been featured in multiple magazines as Orlando's up-and-coming number one custom bakery for cookies and cakes. Sweet Like Sam started on Valentine's Day back in 2018 with chocolate covered strawberries. The passion behind baking was always just a simple hobby as I got my degree in education. After becoming a mother it was a family decision to commit to our little family and focus on the kids. That's when all the magic began with the creation of Sweet Like Sam. I’ve finally returned back to Tampa to start my own business! I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America’s Baking and Pastry Program.
