In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees. Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event. The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.

Our event space is perfect for Baby showers, Bridal showers, and small receptions. What started as a photo studio for the Farmhouse Photography crew, became a venue dream when the owner found a stunning historical location nestled in the heart of Olde town Altoona Iowa. Built in 1900, this gorgeous space went under some minor renovations to allow an open floor plan, ample light, and lots of farmhouse chic charm. We look forward to serving our bridal shower groups here in our brand new space!

Located in the heart of West Des Moines, an event at Decades will not only create memories but ones that last a lifetime. Our specially designed space blends the antiquated with the modern and offers over 5,000 square feet of space for up to 225 guests. If you decide to host your next event at Decades, your investment will give you two on-site suites that offer the perfect place to get ready, the option to rent additional in-house decor, a fully stocked bar with optional packages for your guests, an event lead for the day of your event, and so much more! Also included, for your convenience and ease when planning your event, is ample parking in our adjacent lot. While we take care of set up and tear down, we are also more than happy to assist with any other needs you may have while planning the perfect event.
