I am Kimberly Hibbard. Why am I a photographer? After I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Hearing-Impaired Education, I didn't plan to be a photographer until one day. I picked up my camera and took some random pictures. I posted some pictures on FB and several friends told me, "Girl! Seriously, you need to start a photography business and I need a family session! " Here I am. I have been doing it for seven years now, over 100 weddings and I love it!! I have amazing clients and I consider them to be family.

I started my photography business having a passion for capturing pure emotions and real life moments. I love capturing the essence of people, love and the characteristics that define them both. Being able to visualize a bond between people and bring that to life through a photo is what I set out to do, no matter what moment I am capturing!

I started out as a photographer raising funds to go on a mission trip to India back in 2011. Since then, I’ve been there three times and to other countries near and far around the world. I am based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and am excited to travel anywhere here, or worldwide for you. My name is Amanda Montgomery and I am Arrae Photography based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.
