Aurora Country Club is a private club located in the western suburbs of Chicago, approximately 45 minutes from the Loop. The club is set in a peaceful surrounding and is revered by many Chicagoland golfers as one of the truly great golden age courses in the area. The club was founded in 1914 and the course was designed by architect Tom Bendelow. ACC offers complete country club facilities including 3 dining rooms, swimming pool, tennis courts and of course the full range of amenities for the golf course. The DuPage County Historical Museum is housed in what was formerly known as the Adams Memorial Library. The building was erected by John Quincy Adams (a distant relative of the Adams presidents) in 1891 to serve as a library and community center for Wheaton in memory of his late wife, Marilla Phipps Adams. In 1967, the building opened as the DuPage County Historical Museum under the operation of the County of DuPage and DuPage County Historical Society. Today, the Museum is operated as a facility of the Wheaton Park District and owned by the County of DuPage. It is the only institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of materials which document the history of DuPage County.
