Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

Oklahoma City, OK
  • Serves Le Raysville, PA

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

I ordered the "peaches and cream" small package. We decided to skip on ceremony florals, and only have handhelds and bud vases at the reception. We did buy a few more flowers from the grocery to add more peach once the flowers arrived. We made and medium sized bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 corsages, and 7 bouts. (With lots of flowers left over). My bridesmaids and I did the arranging the morning before the wedding; it was fun, and a great start to the weekend. None of us had experience, but it all turned out great! If you or your bridal party are mildly crafty, I'd highly recommend it!

Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!

I can’t recommend Bloom Culture enough. We scheduled a consultation call with them roughly 3 months before our wedding date. Heather was super kind, helpful and professional. She promptly sent us a proposal that fit our budget and matched exactly what we had discussed during our consultation! The resources they shared with us were super helpful, and 3 days before our wedding the flowers arrived in perfect condition! Even though some of my bridesmaids were nervous about DIYing their bouquets, everyone’s turned out so beautiful and unique!!

Working with Amy and Elegant Floral Creations was a dream. From our first call, we could tell that Amy understood us, cared about our vision for our big day, and had so many good ideas and plans for how to execute them, even with our highly unconventional venue. With so many things to manage and figure out and decide on in our wedding process, Amy was the first and best decision we made. Working with Amy set the standard for how we wanted to feel about all of our vendors, and at the lowest points where we felt completely overwhelmed with planning, Amy made us feel like everything was going to be perfect and beautiful. Even though I felt completely confident in her ability to pull it off, I was still floored by how gorgeous everything looked in the end, and we got so many compliments about the flowers and the installations she made. Amy and EFC were worth every penny and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Fairy Meadow Flowers

5.0

Hamden, CT
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Le Raysville, PA

My name is Isabelle, and I grow chemical free, regenerative flowers and herbs on 3/4 of an acre in Hamden, CT. I truly love working on these blooms from start to finish, and I hope to get to share some of the beauty with you on your special day.

Awarded Best of Zola
There are many florists out there, but how many of them offer flowers they've grown themselves, right from the earth? If you want something super traditional, like a sphere of roses, Isabelle may not be for you. But if you like wildflowers, want to work with a super cool person, and collaborate not only with your vendor, but with the earth itself - this is who you want to work with! Everything Isabelle does has meaning and purpose. On my wedding day, they even foraged some goldenrod that was growing right outside our venue, adding it to the bunches of dramatic, colorful dahlias and unique blooms I don't even know the names of. It was meaningful, gorgeous, and creative. All of the arrangements they made came out came out stunning. Each one was a little different, but everything went together perfectly. I could not pick a favorite. Isabelle was also willing to take on so many little details I hadn't thought of. They provided a really lovely floral cake topper, and put little flowers in each of our guest's napkins. They also have opinions, and will share them when asked- something I like in vendors, who I feel often have the best instincts for what works well. In addition, their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially when you consider how special their work is. In a world of refrigerated carnations...be a wild goldenrod, plucked at golden hour, by a true artist :) Cannot recommend Fairy Meadow Flowers enough!

Awarded Best of Zola
Katie was a breeze to work with! I am not big on real flowers and wanted something that would represent my husband and I. Her prices are comparable to real flowers and are even more lovely! I love that her flower designs mimic real flowers and that foliage was an option. She took the care to make sure I had what I wanted and sent me multiple pictures during the process and of the finished result before we picked them up for the wedding. She accepted my feedback and made changes to the bouquets to match my vision. I still have my bouquet and my husbands boutonniere as keepsakes that remind me of our special day. I would use her services again and again!

Flowers & Friends

5.0

Pitman, PA
  • Starts at $1,500
  • Serves Le Raysville, PA

My passion for flowers and plants started when I was a child. Growing up in the middle of nowhere was the best thing to allow my imagination to flourish. The school day would end and I would be rushing off the bus to help my grandparents plant seedlings or pick the harvest from the garden. My parents had flower beds and brought the beautiful flowers inside to enjoy as well. I am passionate about being able to replicate flower gardens into a gorgeous design but also creating a unique design just for your day!

Awarded Best of Zola
We loved working with Melissa and her team to create beautiful flower arrangements for our 2021 wedding. From day one, she brought so much positivity and creativity - and it shows in her work! We received so many compliments on our centerpieces and are so thankful to have had Melissa on board for the big day! Highly recommend.

Sasha Allison Designs

5.0

Middletown, NY
  • Starts at $6,000
  • Serves Le Raysville, PA

Hi! I'm Sasha, your friendly, wild, crazy and kind floral artist. I specialize in unique florals- mixing dried, foraged and fresh flowers to make a unique creation for your special day. Wedding florals, private events, holiday florals, corporate event installs, storefront, florals and special events…. I am an Ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

I’m obsessed with Sasha! She’s a true visionary. I had a vision and I let her run with it and she truly executed it ten fold. I’m a chef and I wanted fruits and vegetables incorporated into my florals. She accomplished this design in the most classy and elegant way. There were mushrooms, kale, radish, gooseberries and so much more and my guests loved it and found it so unique. It was all in a beautiful jewel tone palate and matched the vibe of my wedding venue to the T. The florals that she used were so vibrant and unique as well, there were even hollographic flowers (anthurium) from a specialized flower house. Above and beyond! My bouquet was the prettiest bouquet I’ve ever seen and guests kept on telling me how impressed they were with my florals and how they were so Eva. Sasha captured me so well and my passion for flowers and food. You will not regret working with Sasha, she is a true force, so talented, communicative and caring.

A full-service wedding florist serving NYC, Syracuse, Rochester, and The Finger Lakes, Wilder Gardens + Flowers has created wildly elegant florals for galas, fashion shows, and weddings at some of the best venues in New York for over a decade, and more recently, at boutique venues in Central New York.
