This converted warehouse was originally constructed in the 1890s. It began as the Elgin Storage & Transfer Company. Over the years numerous companies used the building until 1985 when it was bought by John Haight, who refurbished the building. The Haight features two floors and a rooftop area. Brick walls and hardwood flooring accent exposed ductwork. There are multiple spaces for hosting your ceremony, reception, and many other wedding-related gatherings. On the first floor, there is room for up to 175 guests standing. This makes the 2,000-square-foot space ideal for the cocktail reception. The second floor features 7,000 square feet of space. 250 people seated or 200 people seated with a dance floor can fit in this event area. You can also take your celebrations outside on the spacious rooftop deck.

The Haight was the perfect venue for our wedding day. Lauren, our coordinator, was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and detail-oriented throughout the planning process, making it stress-free for us. On the big day itself, Lauren handled everything seamlessly behind the scenes - if any issues came up, we were blissfully unaware thanks to her proactive approach. The venue itself is unique, clean, and simply beautiful. From the charming exposed brick to the giant windows flooding the space with natural light, The Haight provided a warm, romantic backdrop for our nuptials. Combined with Lauren's coordination, their team delivered a flawless event beyond our wildest dreams. With everything going on with COVID-19, my fiance and I were super nervous about what would happen if we postponed our wedding or even if we had it with a smaller crowd. We had friends tell us that for their wedding at a different venue, they were still going to be charged the minimum amount even if there were only 50 people, I was so nervous about what was going to happen but then we got the call. Jennifer called us from Brides of Poplar Creek and assured us that they understood what was going on and that they would do whatever they could to accommodate us with what we decided to do. They allowed us to maintain our date for 2020 but then also offered to hold a date (at no cost) for 2021! My fiance and I hit the lotto with this place. Jennifer is up to date on the guidelines they are mandated to follow and continued to support us as we took our time deciding what we were going to do. We have finally decided to move our date and Jennifer drew up the new contract and got it to us in no time. Honestly, she made it so much easier for us to make this decision because it definitely was not easy. If you have not seen this venue in person, you need to go check it out. I am very picky and was looking for a place that did not have carpet. If you look at their old photos you see what the upstairs used to look like, it was beautiful but it had carpet. I was going to not even check out this venue but my mom saw that they updated their floors and now it is wood flooring. IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Having both inside and outside ceremony options, you could not ask for a better place. I cannot wait to continue working with Jennifer and her crew as the countdown to our new wedding date continues. I will post a new review after our wedding happens next September. CHECK OUT BRIDGES OF POPLAR CREEK, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

I got married 1/25/20 (literally right before pandemic hit). Never did I image the process of planning would be so smooth and of course I prepared for at least 1 hiccup during the day. When I tell you EVERYTHING was perfect; it really was. Belvedere's team is the reason for this! From months leading up to my day, weeks, days, and hours; Jodi, Doro, and the rest of the team were great at getting back to all my questions and made me feel comfortable with all things wedding related. The tasting (3 months prior) was amazing and chef Alfredo made his presence, explained all choices, and this was the moment that getting married hit us! Let's not forget that doro was amazing at the tasting too! Although side note; I've worked with the belvedere team for 10+ years for corporate events so there were lots of jokes on why i even needed a tasting. :) fast forward to rehersal the day before, doro once again was a gem to have around. He calmed my nerves with a glass of chardonnay. :) day of the wedding jodi stuck around in my bridal suite and made sure my dress was perfect for my entrance, came down and watched a bit of the ceramony, hugged me afterwards, and made sure all was great before she made her exit. The bartenders were on point, food service was quick, hot and delicious, decorations were in ALL the right spots per my horrible instructions (they are great at figuring things out!) And I had nothing to worry about other than making sure I soaked up EVERY second with my new groom. Although I've known belvedere a long time and have had numerous events here (sometimes 6 or more a month) my wedding felt amazing and it was nothing like my corporate events. I also will let future brides know that you will be treated just as amazing! If you want a jaw dropping venue with bonus amazing staff that will treat you as if you're their most important customer (and even a friend) then you are in the right place. You will get all of these same treatments... it doesnt matter if you've known them for 10 years or it's your first meeting. They care about every person coming in their venue and want you to walk away knowing they have their $%*T together and you only have to focus on you!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience at The Westin Chicago Northwest! From the very beginning, we worked closely with Lori, who helped us plan the most perfect day from start to finish. Our wedding weekend was everything we could have dreamed of, we have had multiple wedding guests say it was literally the best wedding they have ever attended. Sabrina our planner made the planning experience very efficient and meeting us where we were in the moments and providing every detail we needed. The venue was gorgeous, all the staff was wonderful, the atmosphere getting ready and leading up to the ceremony was everything we wanted, and THE FOOD was so so good. We recommend going with the cake vendor. We loved their selections so much they allowed us to have to cake flavors for our wedding. Everything was such great quality. We recommend a fall wedding if possible here. The grounds of the club are amazing for photos.

The house, known today as Reid Hall, was completed in 1908 and the family moved in on May 5, led by J. Ogden Armour, until approximately September of 1927. Many of the house’s mantle pieces, there are 15, and the paneling of the library reading room (or former living room), were imported from Paris, Vienna and London, including the marble dining room while the main walls are of Italian marble, the central panels of each wall have been painted over the plaster to simulate actual marble. It is also reputed that the marble staircase was built with the primary purpose in mind that their daughter, Lolita Ogden Armour, would descend the curving stairway on her wedding day, which she did in 1921, to John J. Mitchell, Jr. Eventually the property was sold to Lake Forest Academy where classes began in 1948. Today, Academy grounds total approximately 170 acres.

The Staff is always great, the Food is consistently very good, one of the best desserts is the Bananas Foster presentation they do. The Grounds are well kept and clean, they have a great outdoor Ceremony space adjacent to the building. The Management and as well as the owner are very actively involved making sure everything is up to standards and it shows. The Staff is happy, the clients are happy and its always a good time. I highly recommend Mission Hills Country Club.

Genuine people with a beautiful space inside and out to use that checks all the boxes. They are easy to work with and responsive throughout the planning process. Staff go above and beyond to make your big day perfect. The bridal getting ready room is beautiful and has everything you’d need. Having the onsite hotel was perfect and convenient for us and our guests. They added a grooms room to the hotel that was perfect for them as well. Also best wedding food we’ve ever had- our guests asked if they owned a restaurant because they want to eat their food again! We recommend this venue to anyone we have conversations with and plan to rent this space again for anniversaries to revisit and have a great time there again!

We can’t thank Fishermen's Inn enough for going above and beyond for our wedding. From start to finish, everyone was professional, kind, helpful, and excited right along with us. We looked forward to every meeting, and having Erin at the helm of the event gave me so much comfort. Patti, has done an incredible job of building something beautiful, and we appreciate all of the care she has put into her business - it shows! On our wedding day, from the moment I walked into the space, I felt like royalty. Erin did a great job of running the show, and Tara gets a special award for sprinting back up to the bridal suite when I forgot my bouquet for the ceremony! Everyone commented on how good the food was and made a point to mention how incredible the staff & service was throughout the whole night. Jon is incredible at what he does managing the bar. He helped wrap everything up at the end of the evening, helped coordinate space for our last dance together, helped us pack up, and saw us off at the end of the night. Our only sadness is that we don’t get to do it again! Now we need to try to snag an invite to a Fishermen’s Inn wedding so we can go back for a visit! Recently the wedding reception for my daughter took place at The Glen Club. It was about 12 months in planning. Kate was the main person who worked with all parties on the many details leading up to the reception. Christine and her crew worked the reception the day of. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the way the evening went. Everything that was planned went off without a hitch. The staff was prompt and performed exceptionally well. Even the cleanup at the end went very smoothly. Even the hotel staff was most gracious and helpful. All employees we dealt with would get 10 out of 10 ratings from us.

CityGate's lawn and patio ceremony areas are perfect! Confined to just your family and friends, there will be no worries of having random people walking by during your ceremony - which I personally love as your ceremony needs to be intimate between you, your spouse, and your guests. The actual reception space is gorgeous! Floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to the patio coupled with aesthetically-pleasing ceiling lights and bar with all of the fixin's for that perfect cocktail will keep you and your guests more than satisfied throughout your reception. Finally, the service is FIVE STARS ACROSS THE BOARD! This should be the single most important aspect of selecting your wedding venue. As I stated above, from your first meeting down to the minuscule details, Barb and her team have it covered 100%. I loved my wedding, it was everything I could've wanted out of the venue. I had My ceremony (outside) & reception (inside) and it was such a wonderful time! I did the family-style menu and all the food was delicious. The reception area in the all seasons room was beautiful with the light globe. The bartenders and servers were very attentive and polite. All of our guests loved the food, the chocolate fountain, and of course the late-night bowling!! The communication with the venue was my main pain point as I was appointed multiple sales managers as it seemed like they were going through a management change. I thought it was odd that I talked with the sales manager for all of my communication regarding the wedding up until the day of I was assigned an event manager who I met 1 hour before my ceremony. The sales manager was still on property the day of but I thought it was weird I didn't receive any information that I would be working with someone else the day of. I highly recommend this venue if you're looking for a beautiful and fun place to get married!!

We had the pleasure of having our wedding here September 2024. When I say our experience with this venue could not have gotten any better. Our wedding coordinator, Katie Volkening, was with us every step of the way and never hesitated to answer all of my questions (and there was a lot lol). She was so helpful and responsive through the entire planning process and went above and beyond what was required of her as well as the rest of the BlackBerry Farm staff. The carousel and train ride were such a bargain and were a hit with our guests and made for great pictures! Our ceremony location by the pond was perfect and so serene. Two recommended vendors we used from BlackBerry Farm were, 11th Hour Bartending and Uncle Bub’s and both were amazing to work with as well. Starting from the first call we had with Amelia (Sales Manager in charge of their room blocks) last November while Jonathan (Wedding-Catering Sales Manager) was out of the office, we knew The Abbey was going to be an amazing venue to work with. Her vibrant personality could be felt over the phone, and made me feel like we’d known her for years. This rang true through every single phone call and email we had during our wedding planning, all the way through being onsite for our wedding week. Amelia is friendly, approachable, a great listener, accommodating, timely, and hospitable to name just a few. We genuinely felt like she cared about the success of our wedding, and the experience that our guests were going to have. She went as far as working with the reservations team to ensure we got a suite that was previously reserved when it opened up, customizing our wedding block to fit our guests’ needs, helping ensure guest welcome bags were distributed, and welcoming us for our stay with a gift basket note. We truly believe we would have ended up having our wedding elsewhere if I hadn’t tracked her down last November. Similar to Amelia - from the first time we connected with Jonathan to start planning our wedding, we knew we had something unique in our venue team, and felt confident we’d be in great hands throughout the process. Jonathan always responded to our frequent emails in an extremely timely manner – often right away even when we told him to wait until business hours – and it often felt like he was one step ahead of us. He was extremely helpful with providing his industry expertise, guiding our decision making based on previous experience with weddings / large events, and felt confident that he ultimately had our best interests in mind. He helped us incorporate unique components / details to our wedding that our guests are still talking about, and gave us the sweetest welcome package in our suite! (And recommended we book a great secluded suite!) Jonathan somehow was able to accommodate all of our requests in some way or another, and always made us feel like he was so personally invested. We never could have imagined working with someone so responsive, flexible, detail-oriented, and somehow as passionate about our wedding as we were. His organizational and coordination skills shined exceptionally throughout the last 10 months – even the day after the wedding he was helping us move things out of the ballroom and transferring flowers to brunch. He was truly there every step of the way. We have not been able to stop raving about both Jonathan and Amelia to anyone who asks, and can confidently say we don’t have any negative feedback to share about our experience. Our guests have been the same way and have all been positively commenting on their whole experience. Any challenges that came up throughout our process were always met with solutions, a clear path forward, and their team going above and beyond. Jonathan and Amelia were even there to see us out the Monday after our wedding as we departed, and made not only us but also our parents feel like family. Truly everyone from check-in, Greg at valet, and restaurant spa staff, to the catering events teams and management being open to our ever changing requests ( and keeping up with our large group size) – everyone was so accommodating to work with. We cannot say more positive things about the staff, venue, and our experience!

I literally could write for an hour or two and still not be able to tell you everything that was so wonderful about working with WSE. They were well organized, available, kind, and definitely make you feel like family. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and photographs very well. We took advantage of the recent upgrades to Alpha and it was a fantastic space; big enough to comfortably accommodate our 150-ish guests, décor, dance floor, buffets, memory table, etc, but still felt intimate. They coordinated well with our outside vendors and I appreciated that we weren’t limited in our vendor selection. They made a lot of things just work without stressing us out at all. The setup for my caterers/servers was excellent and accommodating. The Romeo suite was so much fun for the groomsfolk, but the Juliet suite was an AMAZING amenity. The salon chairs and backlit mirrors were so convenient for my HMUA. The suite was comfortable and roomy despite the zillion people I had coming in and out. The full kitchen (particularly the full size fridge/freezer) was super nice to have. We had our ceremony on the west lawn, which was absolutely beautiful. They also were very enthusiastic and accommodating about letting us get some photos with our dogs and incorporating them into the ceremony. One of the most notable things, though, was how well they handled adapting to my and my guests’ mobility needs. Several of my older family members use walkers and were worried about the walking or the grass and they all felt very accommodated and cared for and were able to enjoy the day. I myself have a disability that affects my ability to walk and stand for very long; this was no problem for them. They shortened the aisle for my ceremony, knew exactly how to create a beautiful ceremony where both we and our wedding party were seated, and they put a lot of mileage on those golf carts getting me and my family where we needed to be safely and comfortably. I cannot recommend White Stone strongly enough and I would have every event there if I could.

The Gardens are absolutely gorgeous in the summer, and my husband and I fell in love with the location immediately after we entered. Aside from the beautiful scenery, the Gardens provide delicious food from Culinary Landscapes, their in-house catering service, and all of our wedding guests were raving about the food and beverages. The catering staff were amazing and very attentive. The only smudge on our experience was that establishing and maintain communication was rocky – especially towards the beginning of our planning process – and there were a few surprise expenses tacked on. All things considered, however, we would go back to CBG in a heartbeat – we had a fairy tale wedding.

Let me start with this, one of my friend’s is a retired wedding/event coordinator and she said she’s never seen a team as good as the MBR team in her 20 years. The atrium is a beautiful ceremony location, the ballroom is classy and perfect for a wedding bash, their vendors are excellent, and they are just a well oiled machine. They take great notes throughout the process and check in with you, their software platform makes it easy and I just can’t say enough good things about the day of. I had someone constantly checking in to see if I needed something to drink or food, etc. We went down the street for pics and a coordinator came with us and made sure we had water when we got back. 100/10 rating. Also, so many photo opps near the venue.

We wanted a more casual wedding and pinstripes was perfect for that. The weather was perfect so we were able to have our ceremony outside on the patio and that area was perfect for the pictures! We had bowling during cocktail hour which our guests loved. The food was incredible and they did a great job managing our cake, decor, and everything we dropped off. The whole staff was so easy to work with and all of the meetings went so smooth.
